Which is the best tire for the money?

1. BFG All Terrain

2. Cooper STT

3. Maxxis Bighorn M/T

4. Toyo M/T (Pretty much out of my budget)

99% On road. Mainly for looks.
But I want it to be a quality tire.
Ive had BFG ATs on my last car and they are great. Just looking into new tires.

 

I liked my BFGs because of the wear. I could have gotten 50k out of them easily.

 

the best i got out of my STTs were 42,000, offroading them in sharp rocky terrain about once a month...

as a street tire with rotation every 5,000 miles, you should be good if you want to try something new...

but the BFGs do last quite a long time when taken care of...

 

I am good with rotations and rebalencing. I normally remember those things. Sounds like STTs are a good choice. Anyone running Maxxis Bighorns?

 

If it's for looks and street, BFG probably lasts the longest. I've never had the Coopers, but I hear they're awesome for the price, and plan on putting a set on when these Rugged Fails are dead.

Much as I dislike the fails, I fucking paid for them, so I'm going to use them up god dammit.

The BFGs that I had were actually loud for an AT. Maybe I'm just remembering the worst of it but they sure were a good tire. The thing that is making me think is that I could have a quality mud terrain for the same price if not cheaper than a quality all terrain.

 

i feel the same, they are noisy for an AT. I run firestone destination AT. much better than the BFG for noise. Also with the FS in 285 like i have its a 10 ply tyre, and I like having a tough sidewall.

 

I just recently bought michelin AT2. They are light tires my truck rolls them easy. Light easy steering I heard better gas mileage still testing. I drive my truck on the road 99% of the time. The 4X4 is to get me wherever I want to go.

 

Those Michelins look good, but it's pretty much what I have on my truck right now. I'm sure they are awesome on the road, but I am going for a more aggressive look. Thanks for the pictures though! Good looking tire
