    So if you lock the truck with the remote, but unlock with the hidden button, does any alarm go off?

    Its kinda hard to get at a hidden button that is hidden inside a locked area.

    I was going to go inside the gas door, till I discovered the black piece that holds the gas tube and parts are riveted in place.

    One of the other options I was considering is recessed in the mirror. Not sure if it would work since I didn't take one apart. Or up on the plastic trim right next to the windshield wipers.

    I'm thinking about separating the buttons...front / rear just in case I'm observed locking it and a person starts looking in that area. Also thinking of putting the toggle exterior accessible - probably in a cubby away from the button. So if I lock myself out, I can enable.

    I considered this. I was thinking of putting the lock button on the bottom of the mirror and the unlock in the grill. Then I could lock it pretty inconspicuously. The button wouldn't be as hidden, but it doesn't matter too much.

    Bigger Taller Slower
    Great idea for surfers like me. I always wonder if the chip key is gonna be shot from the salt water.. leaving me at the beach in a wet wetsuit, which, for those of you who have never worn one, is hella uncomfortable until you are in 55° water... I sometimes tuck key under a rock or something but I worry some scumbag will see me...

    So I did this today...lock / unlock buttons but I separated mine so one button per grill support. Also, rather than dremel out the bottom, I used a holesaw and took out the top and attached the button to the lower level support than the OP did.



    Here is the lock button:

    My truck is a 2014 DCSB...my wire colors were the same and in the same location.

    I'm going to add a double pole toggle to disable both the lock and unlock but I don't have the switch yet.
