hey everyone I'm new to the site. Just wanted to say hello. Just bought my first taco 2 months ago. 05 access cab 4x4. Has camburg coilovers and AAL that it came with and its giving some big probs with my suspension in the front.
    Need advice!! Thanks in advance

It rides worse than any vehicle I've ever driven and it makes awful creaking/squeaking/rubbing sounds from every joint in the front, and the coils squeak pretty bad.I took it to 4wheel parts so they could tell me what I had etc (I don't know much about lifts etc) and he said the coilovers are set way too high 4.5-5"? and said I either needed a susp lift or lower the coilovers and remove the AAL. He also told me that it didn't have a sway bar...
Also took it to my regular mechanic and he said I needed to replace the ball joints and UCAs.

Post up a pic of your coilovers of possible so we can see what you're working with.

My camburg's got really squeaky in the lower heims, got a replacement set directly from camburg...no squeaks now.

My concern is that my tires will rub after I lower it (can't afford a lift right now)
Having some brake issues as well. I've had the truck for 2 months and it's been in the shop or I've had to take it somewhere (dealership, etc) for probably 3 full weeks. Like a dumbass I didn't get a Carfax before I bought it and ran one this past weekend and there is a mileage discrepancy that Sao the last odometer reading was 140k on 7/15/14 and it showed 122k when I bought it on 2/17/16. Kinda getting the runaround from the dealer but after our convo today maybe they'll get it all straight soon

Have a shop or yourself adjust your coilovers to 3" of lift and you'd be fine with your 285's. May need a little bit of trimming.

If I did that I would need to take the AAL out, correct? It already sits higher in the rear

The guy at 4WP said that was what was causing a lot of the sounds it makes. I hope so because it literally sounds like it's about to fall apart. You can hear it from 1/4 mile away. Creaks bad when I'm stopped or going slow and turn the wheel...

This is what mine looks like. I do have different coil springs though. Swapped out the camburg 13" 650 pound coils for 14" 700 pounds. But before this I had just a little more thread showing

    Grease uca bushings.
Get a dry Teflon lubeand spray the uniballs.
    Back off on the coilovers.
Change out the bottom heim on the coilovers as well.

    That's what I'd do.

The coilovers should be 3" max? I'm guessing that means 3" of threads showing...also the guy at 4WP said my UCAs should be sitting level as opposed to angled up like in the pics. Will lowering the coilovers accomplish this?
