Mine are flush, they took a few days to settle in...probably temp related. My garage was under 50º at the time, 20º outside.
Had them 4-5 months now, pleased

Perfect thanks, just what I needed to hear....I must have received a bad mold for my 4Runner.

Some fitment pics, can take more if you like. I agree with @skier with satisfaction although still breaking in the mat to press the clutch all the way in when starting the truck.

Yeah I came from a 6 speed Civic Si. Gear ratios are WAY different!

I LOVE my 6 speed on the highway. I test drove the automatic and hated the constant downshifts at random slight inclines. 75 cruising at ~2500rpms.

This. I don't know why they programmed the auto to downshift so often on inclines. The 3.5 is able to hold speed fine in sixth unless there is a long steep hill.

^^ Even at ~2500 Rpms you can get about 22 mpg which is great considering the autos have a lower gears and most get less than 22.

Exactly. It took me forever to get my 6 speed too. I had to keep looking around. So worth it though. Universal anti-theft device!:rofl:For the most part anyway!

I have not seen 22 at 2500 RPM. Best I ever get is 20 and that is closer to 2000 RPM for a long period. I have gotten much better mileage after switching to ethanol free 88 octane. Last few tanks of mixed driving have all been mid 19s.

My truck has 525 miles on it haha. I'm seeing roughly 18 mpgs. I was hoping aFe would have a dry drop in filter out at this point. Sounds like it made a difference in the 2nd gens. Also must be 4x4 of course. 4x2 will get better economy maybe 1 or 2 mpgs.

That's about what I got at first and started going up each fuel up. Also driving habits make a big difference.

I'm trying to break her in real easy. Shifting no higher than 3000 rpms and usually around 2500 on level terrains and not accelerating hard. Cruising between 2000-2500 rpms.

That's what I did and noticed improved "feel" around 1000, but for each person, it will be different. I knew that mpg would be less than average trucks, but average do not have manuals.

Seeing WAY too many threads on how crappy the automatic transmissions are and the electronic shifting issues. Some guys are getting refurbished and "reconditioned" transmissions from Toyota on their brand new trucks. We don't have that issue! Manual FOR THE WIN!

I'm getting little worried about my MT, I have been reading alot about the AT guys with their AT fluid low. Is there anything that I should have checked out, or has anyone had any problems?

2100 RPM at 65mph with the manual, i don't understand why you would be worried about too high of RPM with the manual. I really enjoy driving my new truck with the manual, i had a 2008 for 5.5 years with the auto i wished everyday i would have gotten the manual.

Much easier to check MT fluid level - just pull off the 24mm fill plug and stick your pinky in - if oil leaks out or you can feel it just below the opening, you're fine. No need to check at precise temps like on the AT.

Mine was 1/2 qt low, topped off MT, rear diff and greased U-joints at the same time. Seems like everything is running and shifting smoother, but it's probably in my head.

Long time lurker, first time buyer/poster. Wish I read that prior pick mine up today from them and service was..lackluster. Just another sale to them but the wait's over and she's mine T-minus 10 hours.
