feel your pain,a few years back we had a company truck with similar issues. tons of money thrown at it unsuccesfully. had a hunch, pulled both rear drive shafts (2 piece) took them to a known reputable drive line shop. one shaft was .075 out of round, you could see were balance weights fell off at some point. rebuilt shaft, trued it up ,no balance weights, problem solved ! many times the factory does not true them up well and tries to compensate by slapping weight on to compensate. A shaft trued properly needs no balancing. Just sayin !!!

Waiting for Customer Service to call me back on Tues, they opened a Case and gave e a case number (False Hope)
Not sure if I can keep going back to the dealership with the "poke and Hope" methodology of a fix...
Wheels Re-Balanced, Trans fluid checked, no codes, Dealer computer hows everything working perfectly, been told to "wait for software update"
Should I keep going back for; Engine Mounts, Rear Carrier, U-joints, etc?

Best to get it burn then you can get a get truck of your choice. .. j/k.....
Ya, it sucks to drag on the problem while the company is slow on the fix

just a little FYI..I took off my air dam about a week ago and have noticed that the vibrations are a lot less noticeable. Has anyone else with the vibration taken off their air dam and noticed it's better now? Maybe it's just false hope on my part...:notsure:

I drove a 2016 SR5 4x4 and it had the same vibration on acceleration as my 2016 Limited 4x4. The tech wanted me to drive the SR5 to see that it had the same vibration. It also had the shudder on deceleration from 25-0 mph. Appears to be prevalent on all V6 models regardless of trim.

I meant the '16 vibration and the prior gen carrier bearing vibration.

That is unacceptable to me. Just because there is a defect before doesn't mean that it is OK now

I have a SR 4X4 2.7 4banger with the 6 speed auto. I just drove a 900 mile trip doing 70-75mph. NO vibrations, no numb hands, no discomfort. It ran like a champ, super smooth, and I don't even have cruise control option on the truck.

It doesn't seem to be a problem with the 4 bangers.

I drove one and didn't feel it one iota....drove like a different truck: no buzziness at all in steeringwheel, footwell, gas pedal....very smooth. If my V6 was like that, I would be in heaven...

The needle bearings on the drivers-side carrier of the front differential on the 4x4 is the problem. Got a lift... makes it even worse. Once Toyota is forced to extend the TSB to the 2016 (and they will), they will just replace them with more weak-ass needle bearings. I agree it sucks, but just get the bushing and move on. Mine is being installed tomorrow. I'll post my results. Others that have made the switch are happy with the results.

I hope it fixes it for you but I believe that is a separate issue. This vibration will happen in each gear at the same rpm each time through all of the gears..meanwhile your needle bearing would just keep increasing in rpm.

Also switching to 4x4 doesn't help it like it does with a bad dif. needle bearing.

Hope it works though. Keep us updated.

Your right, they may be separate issues. The 4x4 needle bearing grinding/groaning goes away when four wheel drive is engaged, such a 4H. That is a good way to see if the needle bearing issue is impacting your 4x4 truck.

Ya, they are separate for me. Mine doesn't go away in 4x4.

Aren't we seeing fewer new reports about this? As much as it disgusts me that Toyota has not admitted the issue and released a fix, I am still hoping they fixed the production line.

I hope you are right. My concern is the fix is likely more needle bearings.

After spending every day with the issue now, I am more convinced it is engine component or engine mount related. Only happens in certain RPM range, worse under heavier engine load (ie going uphill), and seems to be independent of what gear you are in (however I need to verify that i actually do feel it in 1st at that RPM range).

So I am personally leaning towards an unbalanced/out of tolerance engine component or faulty engine mounts/overall alignment in the engine bay.

    But who knows.

My dealer keeps telling me it's 'normal' and that no one else complains about it....

I hope they fixed it on the assembly line; however, I just drove a recently built one and it was there, although not as bad as mine...

2 different dealers thought the same regarding the engine mounts.
