Funny this question just came up as I just cleaned/waxed/detailed my truck yesterday and tried something new for the first time to clean my exhaust tip. I have also tried several products with mediocre results, was looking around and saw some WD 40 and used that to clean, got my best result to date. I don't know if it is safe/recommended, I was telling my neighbor as we share tips and he mentioned high heat could cause fire and recommended wiping down with alcohol afterwards which I did. For what it's worth neighbor is a lot smarter than me, works on aircraft, etc. My stainless steel tip is as clean as it has ever been, easy on/off cleaning, truck did not catch on fire but buyer/user beware. Anyone know if this is Ok to use?

Wd40 works well to shine chrome and even aluminized . I also use it to spray on the paint to dissolve road tar that got stuck to the truck before a wash . It's paint safe .

Can anyone tell me if there's been a write up at all about five lug's getting bigger tires? I don't like the gap, but being a 5 lug I don't see much point in going all in on a lift kit and what not. Previous owner bought some aftermarket rims that aren't *terrible* though I'd love to replace them at some point, it appears he just went with replacing factory size everything. I searched a few times and haven't found anything pertinent to 2nd gen or actual five lug models. Any tips or pointers would be appreciated (didn't think this warranted it's own thread so piggybacking for now).

As an aside, yesterday I washed her and then set up an OBD II ELM227 wifi model to connect to my iPhone to get at the data :D

Anybody have pics of painted non-accessory OEM skid plates?

Not the Silver TRD ones. Just the plain bitch of sheet metal that's filled with rust warts.

Mine is looking pretty fugly and don't feel like paying hundred-something for a new one.

Thank you, They are the factory tires. I put them back on because I only have 3000 miles on them. I think they still look good when you see them in person. Vin' s wheels really fill out the tires.

yea my black 17" SR8s should be here next week. Trying to decide between mounting them now on 265s with factory suspension, or lifting, and mounting on 275s or 285s.

I have 884 coils in the front and I'm 2 inches. Just a nose high. I might be putting a aal in the rear down the road.

Not too late as I still have to drill all the holes and install the passenger side. I plan on using that method and getting a better bit from HD. Fingers crossed it doesn't take too long!

Nice! Im guessing you kept your factory UCAs? What size tire do you think you'll end up going with when those wear down? Curious whether a 275/70R17 would fit w/ the 884s. :)
