Pretty sure that's a Replicar. Square headlight surrounds; I think that the Studebaker-built Avanti's had round ones. Plus it says "Avanti II" on the front.

Edit- Ironically, that might make it more valuable. After Studebaker went belly-up a guy named Altman bought the tooling for the Avanti and kept making them for a few years, by hand. But they only ever made a few hundred of the Altman Avanti's, so they're more rare than the Studebaker-produced units. :notsure:

I love stories like that. I saw a cherry Plymouth Fury that was one of the special-built Christine movie cars, and the owner would sell off his grandchildren to gypsies before even listening to a quote.

It appears that this will be the next car to grace my garage. Wife is going through her midlife crisis I suppose. At least it's nice and the exhaust note is unreal. Trying to hold her off until Oct. when my truck will be paid off.

It will be the 6 in white.

1964 models (last year they were made) had the square headlights. Hence, all Avanti II ones after that did as well. How do I know? There's one in my garage that my Dad did a frame off restoration.

Ironic that the headlight bezels are off in this pic. Probably out for re-chroming.

Like an old man without his specs.

That's interesting about the headlights, though. I've only ever seen the round-headlight models at the local car shows.

Yeah, the 1964's are a rare beast. Studebaker was already in serious trouble, and sales were down.

I love the headlight and taillight setups on those. So brutal.

Very nice, love the 58 & 59 Chevy pickups.

What is that white truck in the background? Looks almost like a 50's stepside stuck onto a 70's cab from that angle.
