superbright LEDS has good stuff. You can also getter brighter reverse bulbs, which always helps.

Yeah, well at least if you are doing just bulbs in existing sockets. Cake.

Edit: uhhh, if you are talking behind dash, maybe not so much. You need to have a little experience and be very careful there. But there are write-ups. Check them out.

Okay sweet. This is a really badass website, I went to a Cardinals game this weekend and when I was paying to get in a parking lot the guy said "hey fellow taco owner" and I looked at him kinda stupid and he said "you own a Tacoma dude" and I said oh yeah I do. Then he told me about this website and here I am

Yeah so first and foremost, which I shoulda stated first but you posted after I did regarding your budget, is to keep up on the maintenance. Preventative maintenance. Like mentioned the timing belt and water pump kit. That's a pretty big job itself for someone like you. So I'd focus on that as well as regular maintanance like tune up and oil changes and whatnot. As well as the preventative maintenance. Then save up for the lift and Tires and other stuff. In the meantime you'll find cheap mods around here you can do like mentioned. I kinda regret not invensting in more important maintanance and suspension related stuff vs going crazy with the mod bug first.

Cleaning your MAF (mass airflow sensor) is a good preventative maintenance thing to do, I just did mine on my '04 Tacoma yesterday for the first time (I had to, engine threw a P0171 Check Engine Light code). When I was reading up on how to do it, a lot of guys said that they do it regularly when they service their air filter. It's super easy, took me 10 minutes and I'm new to DIY projects and working on a vehicle.

Anyway, that's something to consider...especially with the miles your truck has it could be good for it. All you need is a screwdriver and MAF sensor cleaner (has to be specifically for the MAF sensor).

Oh and welcome to TW! How long ago did you pick up your truck? Do you plan on taking it off-roading?

Oh and what the heck is a "truxedo"? lol

It's a bed cover and I think I might just do regular maintenance on it and save up for a newer Tacoma

First gens are very capable little trucks, and highly sought after these days...you might find yourself wanting to hold onto it forever heh. But given your in school on a college budget I think it's wise to focus only on maintenance for the time being.

That's probably best if you're considering another truck. People would be more interested in a virgin yota than one that's been tinkered with too much. If I ever decide to get a newer one (which would be '13-'15) it'll be one that is basically stock. Or at the least a lift and Tires. But I'd rather start fresh with my own mods.

Forced induction..."a device that increases the pressure of the fuel-air mixture in an internal combustion engine, used in order to achieve greater efficiency."

Basically gives you substantially more horsepower and torque. The TRD one (now made by Magnunson) gives you an extra 65-70 horsepower and about the same increase in torque.

    They're pricey though...
