Didn't make, but installed a commercial playset at my church with the help of two others.

This thing was ridiculous. The designer called out 17- 14" diameter holes 18" deep. Rented an auger a few weeks ago to bore out the holes. Installed everything yesterday and poured all the concreted footings.

The designer lost all credibility with me when I found out 4 of the 14" diameter holes were for the ends of 1 1/2" dia handrails.

Playing with glass again. Bisque base with ceramic glaze. The lizard is melted glass frit in various colors. It was a fun project and something I want to try again.

Still needs drawers and peg board behind it, but its getting there! Top is 1 1/2" of MDF and 3/16" hard board on top of that.

Technically I created it three weekends ago when I pitched the yeast, but I bottled off my Brown Ale yesterday.

Had a 1/2 bottle leftover to sample and it was pretty damn good. Looking forward to when it carbonates in a couple of weeks.

No problem, hope they have fun with it. I picked up the bisque base at a local craft store, so I don't know who made it. Glaze was standard ceramic glaze for pottery. Frit was some stuff we have laying around. Put it all in the kiln and followed a cone 6 schedule. I could have used more frit in some areas, but not bad for a first effort and none of it flowed out. I have to get a better pic of the result.
Next I want to try something similar, but a slump mold with frit. This makes a 3D object of solid colored glass, but does not stick to the mold.

That sounds like a cool idea! Cone 6 I didn't realize glass melted at that high of a temperature.

Yeah, you have to fire the glaze at the same time, so you need a lot of heat. It was a good learning experience since we were having problems getting frit to completely melt. The cone 6 schedule turned it into a perfect puddle.

Thanks! Very cool and hot. I've learned if something is glowing, it's hot. If it isn't glowing, it's still hot. :)

The wife found a few canvas pictures for the walls but they were un framed... She shopped around and found it costs 100-200 bucks for these guys to build a frame and stretch it over. Ha! I made one for 6 bucks and 20 min of my time...

I think she just ordered 2 more canvas paintings.....

Nice. Anything that makes a hi-lift safer is a plus in my book. They're amazing jacks, but they're scary as :censored: sometimes.

...just finishing up this little gift for my nephew's 1st communion... ...generally, the recipients of my "gifts" tend to get creations comprised of the offcuts/scraps, ..but it's still the good stuff :D
