Someone suggested the 12v cigarette lighter fuses are live but in my 2015 they aren't .. I checked the acc fuse too, im doing a sillly cheap project that simulates an alarm system with a flashing led light, would prefer not to pull a wire thru the grommet from engine bay...can anyone suggest a solution?

    I have a question...

Can I use an add a fuse in the the door lock fuse to get constant in-cab power?

nothing has changed inside the truck as far as fuses for some time..... 12v socket fuse is hot all the time. The relay behind the fuse panel is what switches the 12v sockets on and off. You can pull off that fuse no problem.... i know cus i just used that exact fuse for an always hot usb charger.

Dunno maybe I was wrong, used multi meter, no signal when truck off, signal when it was on...... checked and checked plugged in an add a fuse, power when truck was on, not when off..reality is you are probably right and I'm a tard ....
Now w 12v all the time mod I can charge my phone / tablet while my truck is off, and use an add a fuse for my other project..

Guess it's a win win, as I wanted a hot all the time fuse for my other project, and now my 12v outlets are live all the time which I wanted, so either way, if I failed to detect that the 12v outlet fuse was indeed live while the truck is off, it all worked out in the end...

Read the rest of this thread apparently the 12v charging outlet fuse is live all the time, so no need for you to do the extensive mod I did
