And all things considered reliability wouldn't be an issue? I assume the problems would come from steering components if anything were to go wrong?

Is it u heard of to get 300k plus miles out of a 2nd gen Tacoma... I'm wondering if I should just stay ifs then sell current truck, and buy a cheap 4Runner and do a sas then beat that up as trail rig, and buy 3rd gen when I graduate (2020 roughly)

Anyone know is FJ Cruiser and 4Runner transfer cases are interchangeable? #361003d470
If you guys could direct me where I can find info. I found a 2011 4 Runner transfer case to do a manual transfer case on 07 Tacoma

The SR5 4Runner has a shifter, the limited is full time AWD, and the trail is made of unicorns and witchcraft with knobs for each terrain you want to dominate.

The verdict is I spent $$ on it so I hope it's the right one :)
Edit: I think some are all wheel drive and then they have a selector switch like Taco's do

I wish the Tacomas got the 4.7. I'll consider a swap when this engine goes. Or if it goes

The guts may b the same but those sensor bungs are on the wrong side. They are on the passenger side for the taco & FJ.

I don't recall but I thought you use the Tacoma sensors where they are positioned on the Taco and block the extra off! There is one hole with a sensor on the other side too... I'll find out soon enough :)
Edit: After my electrical online class I'll have to crawl under the truck to see how many sensors there are

The Tacoma tcase has two sensors on top of the actuator. The FJ case has three, two on the driver side and one on the passenger side, just like the 4Runner case that was pictured.
