looks like you will potentially have some spray clean up outside your paper protection...didnt cover enough paint surface. I newspapered double what you did, and some how I was still able to get some spray on my truck haha.

I didn't dip the badges. Not a big fan of the finish. So I bought additional ones on eBay. Painted them and swapped them out.

Did the bumper end caps today. They came out ok. Left them on and taped off bumper. I would have rather taken them off, but didn't have all that much time. image.jpg

Plastidip addict here. Just picked up a MGM TRD OR DCSB and plan on doing a full vehicle dip with striping.

I'm going to replicate the FJ Trail Teams/Tacoma TRD Pro Cement Grey color and then add stripes (BMW M3ish) across whole body, but using the TRD emblem as spec.

Anyone know the aspect ratio between the two stripes and the angle of the stripes? Would like to stay as close as possible to the actual TRD specs.

Similar in concept to how I did my 4Runner:

Thanks! One can will be enough. No glossifier. I like it better matte. Not as shiny and matches the flares better imo. Do yourself a favor and take off grill. It's simple and will save you the headache of taping. I tried to tape it and had to start all over.

There are literally two screws and two clips holding the grill assembly in. After that to remove the bezel and grill out just unclip the plastic clips. They are flimsy. I broke one.

I get a lot of bugs in my area. Cleaning them off the front grill with the plasti dip applied was hard. Rub too hard in the honeycomb section and it began to peel back. Removed and re dipped 3 times over the past 6 months. Finally got tired of re dipping and had it coated with linex. I'm happy now. I can rub as hard as I want and that stuff isn't going anywhere. Oh and removing the plasti dip is easy as everyone says....except for all the little square sections in the OR grill. The flat sections come off in sheets....but not all of those little squares. And for anyone thinking about using citrus cleaner to remove, think again unless you like big black slimy messes. I learned that on my last removal session. I think the stuff is great for non high impact parts...side emblems, rear emblems, etc.
