I actually mulled it over for a week and decided I wanted it. So I went back to the dealership to buy it and it was gone.
Never saw one again. (A red TT that is).

Damn right it could toe more. Does anyone remember the video of the supposedly stock tundra that towed the space shuttle across a bridge? Sure, it was only a few hundred feet and it was probably in 4 low, but I'm pretty sure it was over 100,000 pounds.

100,000 is a drop in the bucket. I work on Boeing 717'so. We hold 209,000 lbs in just fuel.

To the op, I wouldn't get that worked up. The fix should be easy, it's on toyotas dime. Yeah it's a pain in the ass but still. Toyota has way less issues than dodge chebby or ford. They will get the bugs worked out and you will be good to go.

I totally agree with you here. My last Toyota ('91 4x4) had a catastrophic engine failure at 110K miles. This was the first real issue on the truck. Toyota said that it was caused by a faulty headgasket and put a new engine, crank and 6 new pistons in it. I couldn't believe it.

That's for the dealer to figure out on a brand new nearly $40k truck

That's about the 5th time I've heard this 40k number tossed out. I guess I got a steal on mine?

A loaded TRD OR 4x4 with JBL invoices at over 36k. MSRP is 38 to 39k. After tax Tags fees etc you're going to pay close to 40k out the door even with a screaming deal. Mine was 39500 out the door at 500 over invoice and no dealer adds.

Guess not. Trd or. No jbl, dual climate or sun roof. Got her at 32k then 1200 in tax/tag. Far from 40. If the jbl/climate/sunroof is worth 7k then good on ya

Yes it is. I was referring to the OP said the tech had to place a call to Toyota for further directions. A "tech" should know this and it doesn't matter if its a "new" engine, you can find the cause with that procedure on any engine. Its either a coil, an injector, or blown cylinder. I wasn't saying OP should diagnose it himself, I was saying maybe he should request another Tech on his truck.

Sometimes the service adviser types just like to BS the customers and say stuff to make themselves seem important. Most of them aren't techs, and are just go betweens trying to make a living.

This, though with this engine there are two injectors per cyl. Given it happened at full throttle, could be a bad high-pressure injector, so there might be some truth to what the service writer is saying.

I paid 39500 OTD. That's about what MSRP is on the truck. OTD means with tax tags and fees. You must be new here.

You should check out the Nissan Frontier forum. When it comes to issues with Frontiers made after 2010, it's pretty quiet.
