Just some 35% tint to match the rears and some 285/70/17 Falkens…
2100 rpms at 65 seems like a small improvement over the gen 2 6 speed. My gen 2 was around 2400 rpms at 65. I'm picking up my 2016 manual quicksand TRD OffRoad in a month, hopefully...

My '04 (first gen) 5 speed cruises at about 2400 RPM in 5th gear at 65mph. Stayed between 65-70 on a road trip recently on an entire tank of gas, got just under 21mpg. Not bad for a boosted first gen!

They really should change the rear axle ratio on the manual tranny models. That's the reason the manuals tach about 700 RPMs higher than the automatics at 65mph. The rear axle ratio is much higher and there is no option to change it when you order one.

Wish mine was geared a little lower. Don't need to run 80 as often as I tow.

Anybody know if you can get the sunroof and tech package with the manual in Canada ? I have a 16 auto now and I'm wanting to trade for a manual but don't want to give these things up. Any thoughts ?

I'm pretty sure you can. It's part of the sport upgrade package or whatever they call it. Comes with wireless charging and blind spot bs.

You can get the tech package but they don't do sun roof on the access cab unfortunately.

I have to say I put 1500 miles on my truck and the manual has become a lot better for the city with the 4.3. I put it in first and it will not stall it will coast at 500rpm below 5mph. If it were 3.9 it would be harder in the city. It would be nice but I can understand why they put the 4.3 with the manual v6 and the 4cyl manual has 3.9.

    My idea/example:

V6 manual 4.3= tow and sport so so mpg
V6 auto 3.9= mpg and ease of use
I4 manual 3.9= good mpg and 5speed still sporty
I4 auto 4.3= Same mpg as manual and ease of use

The autos final gear makes up for transmission and manual final gears are for the actual purpose of the gear mpg or sport/tow.

Love my MT 2012 2.7 4x4 no issues at all so far. Just picked up a 1990 toyota that is 4cyl MT 4x4 as well so I'm hoping the old one will be as great as my current truck

Loving my '16 six speed so far no issues.
Runs, shifts and tows great. Oh yeah and that 3rd gear pull is what a manual is all about. Reverse being on the opposite side after decades of swing right and down for it took a day or two to get used to. I also still reach for the e brake in the dash above my right knee. Muscle memory is hard to break.

I have been impressed with the MT (only 50 miles driven so far....) nearly no clutch lag and the shifter might as well be moving itself. Damn smooth.

Does anybody recommend just using the clutch to move (5mph) then release and gas it in first?

I wouldn't. That seems like an easy way to go through a clutch.

    Thanks guys for the reply

So press on clutch down, about half way up theres that bite point, then give it a bit gas? Dont let go of clutch until some gas is given? Sorry just tryin to see whats best to preserve the clutch...

Feather clutch while giving it gas and slowly release clutch smoothly and all the way. You'll get a feel for it eventually.

Yes, once you start to release the clutch there's a point where you feel it start to pull itself (best to try on a level surface if learning)...that's when you start to give it gas. Too much gas before that point, or letting the clutch pull you too long before releasing it, and you're putting strain on it.

edit: it's also worth noting that clutches are a lot stronger than most people think, especially those that are learning. It takes concentrated effort to burn out and kill a healthy clutch. My first manual took me weeks to learn how to drive it properly (I was a slow learner), and in that time I had the smell of a burning clutch forever etched into my memory. That same clutch went on to last me just under 100k miles before needing to be replaced.

I did read that also that the MT has taller rear end gears. Does anyone think the truck could come close to the 140mph speedo. I find it insane that the speedo reads 140mph.

It probably is governed. I doubt it'd hit 130.
