@tx novice, thanks again for letting me try this RAM Mount with X-Grip! I'll let everyone know how it goes. If successful, Ron might get some more business!!!

Ron...I had that same exact setup on my cycle awhile back. Although the X-Mount grabs tight, a solid bump will dislodge the phone (Lost phone on the freeway...:bikewhoops::(). At least on a cycle...:D I guess if it's in the cab and pops out...you're OK...:) Nice mounts though!

Mounted! Looks awesome. We'll see how it functions. Thanks again, Ron (@tx novice)!!

For those that may want more adjustability, you can probably add the RAM Double Socket Swivel Arm for 1" Balls (overall length: 6.25") instead of the RAM Composite Double Socket Arm for 1" Balls. But, as always, it would come at an added cost. Swivel Arm is $22.99 compared to what I used, which was only $10.49.

Talk to @tx novice (Ron). He is the man!!!

Although, he did recommend Locktite to screw in the bolt. I didn't have any on me but I might go and pick some up soon.

Also, Rick (@squint0241), did you have/use the rubber net that is show in my photos? That is what Ron was talking about. It helps secure the phone. See diagram provided with X-Grip below.

I've used my x-grip at kaena point and p flats and my phone has never dislodged itself. I guess I have an earlier version because I don't have the rubber net. It's been a great phone mount but the only thing I don't like about it is that u need two hands to dismount the phone.

Really? I've crashed my supermoto with my phone attached and had to take it out of the mount to dig the red dirt out of the headphone jack, but it was still mounted firm... Did your rubber feet come off the mount when yours popped out?

Hit a pothole and the sudden jar caused the phone to jar downwards which collapsed the X. Phone fell straight down on the tank and then tumbled 30-40 times on the freeway as I looked in the mirror:rolleyes: Oh yeah...and got ran over by a few cars...:facepalm:I admit...the grip was really strong, but depending on the amount of force nothing is a guarantee... I prefer a cradle with a bottom support now so it will never slide down.

Bro...I didn't even know a rubber net existed at the time I got mine a few years ago. It didn't come with one and the pic you're showing is the first I have seen of it...:( That would have saved it from jumping out for sure...

What was ironic was that I had just picked up the phone 2 days before it got trashed on the freeway. It was a brand new Note 3 that I had paid full price for!!:frusty: With no insurance I had to get a new phone that day. Most expensive phone in the history of mankind:rofl:

I have a problem and wondering if anyone here has had a similar problem. I've asked around but just trying to get more insight if possible. So I got two new batteries on Tuesday in preparation of my dual battery setup. Optima yellow top D34/78. I'm using one for now till I can get everything installed. After that it wouldn't start on me twice. There would just be a click when I would turn the ignition. The first time I just jumped it and it started right up. The second time I wasn't so lucky. Tried jump starting it but wouldn't start. I don't think it's the battery. It's showing 13-ish volts on the Ultragauge. I'm leaning towards it being a bad starter. I tried hitting it while someone else was turning the ignition. That didn't work. I'll look at all my wiring connections more closely tomorrow but I just wanna exhaust all possibilities before buying a new starter and youtubing on how to install it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Starter went bad right after you changed the battery? Hmmm...sounds like connections to me. If you can get hands on a multimeter it would be easy to check wiring/connections

Yeah I'm gonna go thru all the connections and wiring. Hopefully it's just a bad connection somewhere. It be way better than a bad starter, that's for sure.

Not all brand new batteries are fully charged. They get charged at the factory then depending on the store you buy them from, they'll just sit untill sold. And it could ve months. I would check the connections for sure but, the connections would still be bad when you jump it. Put the battery on a charger till its 100%. Then see what happens.

Make sure the connectors of the positive and negative battery posts are on nice and snug and clean.
