    Wondering if you can explain how these are $33 better than a SS hose clamp?

    They look nice, I'm sure they fit well, and your description of 'may not be easy to assemble' could indicate some security value. The screw heads pictured appear to be common tag screw type, so the tool is easy to come by.

    I know you have a disclaimer of 'more secure' not impervious, which is good honesty.

    And I'm not dissing your product.

    I think it would just be helpful to describe or demonstrate (youtube video?) how much better your solution is, other than being attractive. When the tailgate is open.

    While I'm frugal, I've paid more money for a lot less complex product, when it was something I wanted. Make Taco owners smell the bacon!

    Haha.. Besides the fancy color that no one will be able to see anyway. I say stick to what you have. I have a Mcgard tailgate lock and it serves it's purpose.

    How this is different? Great question.

    This product: It is installed through the hinge then fastened together (video in work). Once installed it encapsulates the entire hinge cup (by design), so the product cannot be tricked, bypassed or removed. Read many post of the tailgate stolen and the lock sitting on the ground next to the truck.

    The installation: It takes a few minutes to install (by design). If it is hard to put on, it's harder to remove. (see instructions SaBellCo.com/SUPPORT.html)

    The fastener: Because the fasteners is located on the side (by design), which make it is harder to access. JB weld can be used to fill the fastener head to prevent the installation tool from being used; requiring much more time to remove the tailgate if desired.

    What kind for fastener is being used on this bracket? Is is a normal allen head fastener?

    Take a look at the installation instructions (SaBellCo.com/SUPPORT.html). I am sure the clamp provides some level of security, this product is an optional device if you are interested.
