Is the AC still an R-12 system, or has it been converted?

Not sure if it has been converted. Works great though for a rig that was built while Reagan was still president.

Nice looking rig. You'd have a line a couple miles long of buyers if you took that some place like Guatemala. It would be a low mileage princess, ready to work!

Open the hood and inspect the AC. Most conversions have lots of stickers in place to 'warn' service personnel. Also the high and low fittings would be different. R12 were threaded to receive the guages/hoses, R134a are the 'snap on' (proper name escapes me) type, and there is no way one can be mistaken for the other.

Could be in your best interest as a seller to know, since you could get some calls who want that info before driving a distance to see it.

Way awesome truck! Build my confidence that we purchased the right truck ourselves.

Your rig should get pretty fast. I almost want to buy it for nostalgia.

I had the same truck! Mine lived in Jersey though, not Cali. I'm afraid there wasn't nearly as much of mine when she passed :(. This is my only pic of her, just behind my car. I had done a head gasket on her, got another year and a 1/2 out of her when she went again. Called it quits at that and got my '10 the next day. Same color, MGM, as my very first one back in '85, the '83 in my avatar & sig. Please excuse me wile I shed a tear for them both :sadviolin:Viper'88yota.jpg .
