How come you positioned your muffler vertically like that? Did it fit easier that way?

Asking only only out of curiosity, not because I feel one way or the other is correct.

Oh shit, I never even noticed that. I turned mine side wise, figured it'd be a little safer tucked up higher.

Is it hard installing this exhaust yourself? Or is it as simple as bolting it on and pushing through the exhaust hangers? How long did it take to install yourself? Any codes pop up after install?

Not hard at all! the toughest time i had was trying to get the stock exhaust back through the hangers. It took me around hr and 30 min, but i was taking my time and forgot to put the spacer in. No codes even with intake mod... :D

Owhhhh wow whoopee the MagnaFlow it makes a neat noise....I'll give you that but in the end does it improve performance? Do you see a boost in horsepower and or fuel consumption? Anything less is a total waste of money IMHO. Let see the facts!

So many of the mods people do is for pure aesthetics. Sound of a muffler is just another part of that, one which many (including me) enjoy. Only way any real HP is going to be found is with a Super charger. 1 or 2 HP here or there is not really going to make much difference.

If you think a muffler is going to give you any noticeable power on an N/A 3.5L V6 from 2016 you are a bit delusional. Even turbo engines these days come with pretty free flowing and well tuned mufflers. OEM Manufacturers (e.g. Toyota) haven't been sitting around twiddling their thumbs while the after-market was the only one developing free flowing mufflers. Nope, somewhere along the way some engineers at the OEM's realized, "hey, you know, we could easily manufacturer decent free-flowing mufflers, gain some efficiency, pick up some power ... etc. etc. and make a more competitive drivetrain for the market." Aaaand that's what they've done. Sure, they're still working within the confines of having to make reasonably quiet mufflers, but even the quiet mufflers flow pretty darn well these days. The OEM's have spent a lot of time dyno tuning their drivetrains and trying to eek out what they can so they are competitive with the other manufacturers offerings. That means that these days you don't really see the power gains like you could back in the day slapping some flowmasters on your 5.0 and picking up 25rwhp. Now if a muffler gives any power gains it likely happens at the top of the power range and comes with a commensurate loss in low-end torque, so more than likely it is probably best that if it doesn't affect the power :) You can also be absolutely guaranteed that no muffler manufacturer is spending as much time dyno tuning their setups like OEMs do. They simply don't have the resources to throw at the engineering problem for such a low volume market.

Did you end up with small space where the bolt on goes? I don't want to over tighten but the connection is not flush like the oem was?

Yes, there is a small gap because of the spacer. But give it a couple good cranks and it will seal right up. I have a couple small leaks before and after this section. image.jpg

Installed mine last week. Used a torque wrench dialed to 45. Getting water leaks at the bolt locations right above and below muffler. Anything to worry about or need to be done?

Follow up: I called Magnaflow today and they said that was normal. If I wanted a tight seal I could have it welded.

Is anyone else getting cabin drone? I haven't gone back under and tightened everything up yet but wondering if there's any way to quiet the cabin noise.

I know...i sound crazy...I want it loud on the outside and quiet on the inside...

I have never done a bolt on replacement and it was super easy, only need 14&15mm socket wrench and a flat head screw driver
