I was thinking of getting that same gun on the right. Let me know how it performs. Taking care of LBJ's and CV's this week.

Will do. I'm using the 3ah batteries I already have but I've heard that should not affect power, just run time.

They are easy. Two pry bars or equivalent is the easiest if you don't plan on reinstalling (they can damage the dust seal I little and not preferred if you plan on keeping the CV's). Rotate the CV until you find a good position to pry against the CV and diff surface. You can't just pry from one angle, you need two points a the same time to get off. Another way is to hammer a wedge/pry bar in between the diff and CV at two diff spots, slowly working each in until the CV pops out.

Another tip is to make sure your diff fill plug is loose. Especially for the 1st gens, this plug can be a PITFA to get off and you'd be in a lot of trouble if you lose too much diff fluid and can't get that bolt off (just ask @hop)

The hardest part is getting that hub nut off which isn't too bad if you have a nice impact gun. Without one, someone standing on the brakes works and I think if you put it in 4x4, it will keep the hub from spinning as you torque on the nut.

Recommend you rent a pickle fork from your closest auto store to get that LBJ bolt out of the spindle.

Sup guys. Been home for for a few weeks and pretty busy. Also Re-up'd for a few more years.

Last week Some assholes cut a 6" slit into my soft tonneau one night. They popped it open from the inside (tailgate was locked) and luckily they didnt take anything even though the bed had some of my uniforms and gear in it. Unfortunately warranty does not cover theft damage so I temporarily sealed it with Gorilla tape on both sides. Will be investing in a truck cap down the road.

Aaaand I temporarily cut off funds to my sidepiece Karmel (trucks name) to give the main chick some love. She said Yes!

Congrats!! Sucks about stupid people. I used to leave my car unlocked but I found the door ajar and car rifled through one morning. I know it was a bunch of kids because they didn't take my check book (threw it on the floor).

    Good luck!

Same basic shit everybody else had 5 years ago.
Was also looking at that one, I am going to tackle mine this weekend as I have to get it done before surgery on Tuesday. I think I can do it as long as all the bolts cooperate. Never done one before and although it looks fairly simple, I always worry about that one little thing that if you don't do destroys everything!

Still gathering everything I need to do it and the good thing about all of this is it gives me reason to buy new tools I don't yet have.

Only thing I am not sure of is one video shows the guy disconnecting the tie rod but no other write ups mention it. Any of you first gen guys have to do that?

I don't have any issues with hosting some folks at my place if anyone wants to come supervise......
