    off the shelf you could use the normal 6switch plate and double side tape it to that, i could try doing something custom like mine, as i didnt like how just mounting the face it stuck out way far, so i recessed it in.
    no bought the ram mount, i normally have a tablet attached for mapping. i recently added a extension to it to also mount my XM radio

    Hmmm... custom plate eh?

    I need to take a closer look at the Kenwood faceplace to see what it is shaped like on the backside. I think it would be cool to have it recessed enough so that is did not protrude any further than the Pioneer radio faceplate.

    Let me know if you think that is feasable.

    it was, but it was also a shit ton of work lol. you would need to give me a cad drawing of the faceplate and i could cut it out for that and you can either hot glue or double side tape it to the bracket.

    If you could figure out a way for a "universal" recessed plate, you would sell a ton to the Ham radio guys. They are awesome. If I didn't already have a perfect mount for my face plate, I would want yours.

    you could easily just put new holes in the bracket and put it back 1" it would just need to be a basic panel with no cuttouts.
