No good deed goes unpunished. Sorry to hear bro. I'd say stretch and some light work to get the blood flowing

It's fun to ask if they're done with whatever they're using and see their look when they tell you how they're done and you can go ahead and use it and you tell them. No..no, you need to put it away!

I am fortunate enough to work out at an old school power lifter gym in a 1920's ice house. Combo lock on the front door so 24hrs.. Most people are respectful but some guys from cities where they worked out at a big gym bring some bad habits... Anyone else here work out at a unique/private gym? I've done both and feel for some of you in these bigger gyms...

My favorite gym is my old high school gym. Shoot I've built half the equipment in that place. I've got a 24 hr key to it just as long as I don't go during school hours they let me play and build or rebuild any of the stuff I want. I gotta rebuild the bench eventually. I wanna make the rack height adjustable

I go to and used to work at a local gym here. I like it for the most part, but hate idiots. After working there through college, I have a list of pet peeves about a mile long!

That's why I like a 24hr gym... I can pick off times to go and be by myself!! IE 2-3 AM when I get off work!

I'm at 24 fitness but go between 3-4 a.m. as well. I tried to go at 9 pm one time and left with a terrible work out. I wish I could find a legit local gym but I'm all over the place and I like that I can go to a bunch of different places and still be able to work out with not a lot of people at that time.

Lol, that sounds so passive aggressive. Why don't you leave a sticky note on it for them next time. I don't have this problem at my gym but we also have workers constantly moving weights around to the correct spots. If you want to assert your dominance, go up to them, stop their workout and ask them to be polite of others and re-rack the weight. If they don't, I know gym owners who have thrown people out for less.

I have a confrontation in my head in which I break their soles and leave them desolate and shamed, but then just go about my day

My standard protocol is: if it happens once, I clean up after them while giving them an 'eat shit' look, if it happens again, I do the @dwalden2 approach and get loud and angry as I put their shit up to get their attention, if it keeps going on, I'll say something to them in a not-so-passive way. If it's an old person, newb, or girl, I'm polite, but if it's a grown-ass man who has been to the gym before, I'm like, "Dude, re-rack your shit!"

Doing it in a tactful way is best, I think. Gym etiquette to some is non existent. So, a friendly reminder is needed. Don't have to be a bully but why should you search for equipment when this person carelessly leaves it out. Oh well, how bout weighted pull ups? Anyone doing a 45lb plate or more?

    I've done 65lbs 8 reps...... but with straps :(
I'll try to rep out 45 tomorrow without straps. It's my pull day anyway.

I found weighted pull ups work the best for me for increasing the number of non weighted pull ups I could do. I do them every back day towards the end of the workout so I'm half fried by then. I don't like the 45# plates because they nut crunch me too much so I'll use 25#ers. Best I've done is 75# for 9 or 24 without weight. Did 20 in a row today but I haven't done weighted for a while now due to the shitty chain belt this gym has

Yeah pull ups can be tough all around.. I've done 45lb 3 sets of 8 w/ straps at 185lbs then no weight down the road and 4 sets of 10 strict no wraps can be a rough go around
