ah, I must have missed that.

What's interesting is that the older manifolds have a larger internal diameter all the way through the collector. The performance difference is probably negligible though.

Didn't get the new motor dropped in because I had to drive all over town to pick up the necessary gaskets and some smaller hardware. Hopefully it goes in next weekend.

I just called and talked to someone at URD and he said the injectors are the same, just made by different companies after 1998 or whenever the part number switched.

Edit: the newer injectors are rated at 14.9 ohm, the older ones are 14.3 ohm. Source, 1996 used #23250-62030, 2002 used #23250-62040.

According to the FSM for 1996, the injectors should be in the 12-16 ohm resistance range, so they should be fine as long as they are in proper condition.

took all of 5 minutes to drop the motor in. Spent several hours fighting to get the transmission mated. Can't get it the last 1/2" or so

theoretically yes, I have not personally verified.

You can check your injectors using a multimeter if you suspect that they are bad

The problem with my setup is does it very intermittently like 2 days ago I drove about 20 miles got my tires put on and when I about an hour later started to leave and it was missing low on power and then let it sit overnight drove it around all day yesterday for five different stops and never had a problem at all so I think that they'll pass on the multimeter unless I wait until it's actually missing and then just start pulling the plugs to the injectors and you can only reach 3 so then I have to take the intake off swap which side they are on and wait for it to do it again

Any idea what would cause random stalling? The truck occasionally stalls in neutral or in gear. Today it stalled on me on the highway and I had a close call

It stalls and all the dash lights come on but after coming to a stop it restarts without any CEL :annoyed:

Even if it starts back up without and CEL, the CEL that came on when it stalled will still be stored in the ECU...maybe try pulling it and see what code(s) it gives you? That would be the best place to start

if it's throwing a code the light would stay on, yea?

Rechecked all of the engine bay electrical connectors and found that the MAF connector was only about 95% of the way on and the pass head ground was loose, hopefully that was the issue. If not I'll try pulling codes

Not always, no...my truck has had an intermittent CEL going on and off for a couple weeks now, P0171 System Too Lean code. It stays on for a few days then goes off for a day or so. When I took it to Toyota, the light was off, but they said they were able to pull the code from the truck's ECU memory and diagnose it that way.

The problem is still there, it's just worse at times than others. I'm still in the process of getting it fixed.
