    Hello,
I just ordered a fold a cover for my 2016 Tacoma 5 ft bed. Has anyone else had experience with fold a cover before? Are they water tight?

My old man has one on his 2013 and loves it. Very much water tight, a few drops gets in when it really pours but that's it. I've been waiting for them to come out for the 2016, was supposedly on the waitlist, but this is the first I'm hearing they are available. I'd appreciate a review on the water tightness once you get it installed!

Will follow up on impressions & photos of the Fold-A-Cover on a 2016 taco 5" bed, once installed after the April 27 ship schedule . I am wondering how the latches mount? On the bed rails hopefully.
Hopefully the instructions are clear ! Sounds like it waterproof too !

    Thanks-

I ordered one. I would hope them taking this long to get it out, it might have less problems then some others when released. I hope shipping does not take too long, I have a trip planned in the beginning of June and it would be nice to have this before then.

Fold-a-cover sent me an email saying the G4 cover shipped from there factory. I'll be installing it this Thursday evening. Also, have a toyota rubber bed mat enroute. I'll post picture and impressons later.

I will never buy anything from Fold-A-Cover.

I contacted them early January, asking when the cover for the 2016 would be available.
"In a few weeks, we will add your name to the list to be notified when it is in stock"

    February, same story.

March, same BS. As many times as my name was "added to the list" you would think I would have heard about it being available from them instead of on a thread in Tacoma World.

My opinion is the cover is probably a good piece of equipment. However they blatantly lied about the availability and lied about notification to dissuade the public from buying elsewhere. They probably didn't know when the panels to build their "made in USA" covers would arrive from China.

I am certain that if there was any problem, I would be dealing with at best an extremely inept, incompetent group of people, at worst liars and schemers. I have serious doubts that they would stand behind their product, based on their demonstrated lack of honesty.

If you don't mind me asking how much was it? I'm in the market for a cover and this is one I had my eye on.

Well I got home early from my trip and started putting my fold a cover that arrived Tuesday on.
The packaging was pretty good with all the nuts and bolts in a sealed plastic bag and then in a cardboard box. Upon starting with the first step the pictures of two bolts to remove from the back did not correspond to my truck. (I thought boy or boy here we go). I called fold a cover installation help and they told me the printer made the pis take and he emailed me the correct picture( he was very nice about the problem). He told me the rest of the instructions were right. I continued putting it together following the steps and it did go together. I still have to put the tailgate weather stripping on, but will wait till Saturday when the temp should get up to near 80 degrees for proper adhesion. It got to dark out for photos of final install but did take a few of installation. I did notice in the literature that came with it, it did say that it wasn't waterproof. I guess I'll find out the next time it rains.

Ok took a few more pictures of completed install except for rubber gasket that goes around the side and bottom of tailgate
    image.jpg
    image.jpg
image.jpg It does leak on both sides in this area, went thru car wash. As you can see they didn't extend the gasket to the end. There is about an inch that I will have to put some rubber seal there. The leak isn't to bad, but enough that I want to fix it.
So far I like it, will have to give it some time to get use to using it, as this is my first cover of this type.

Thanks for the write up and photos! How long did it take to install? I see fold-a-cover claims that new features cut the install time in half. I recall reading reviews for this cover from prior gen owners that it did take a lot of tweaking to get it set right.

How is the fold-a-cover logo affixed on the back ? Is something that can be easily removed?

Maybe 1-1/2 to 2 hours to install, but since I was trying to follow the instruction step by step and take pictures it took a while. Now knowing how to do it, I could probable do it in 45 mins.
I did put four small pieces of waterproof foam in the four corners that I think will stop the leaks from the car wash. I will have to wait now till it rains or gets dirty again and run it through the car wash to see if I fixed the leaks.

Today I unboxed my Fold-A-Cover. The cover itself looks to be undamaged. Inside the 2 sealed bag was the hardware. I looked at the parts list and what I got in the sealed bags. Missing were 2 bolts, 3 flat washers and 2 lock washers.

Won't be installing tonight. The bags had the names of the kitter and an inspector. Both can't count I guess.

On the phone with them tomorrow !!!

The gap at the end of the wind seal is puzzling. I will ask fold a cover about it tomorrow. It just does'nt make sense not to have the weather stripping run the full length of the top.

Eric can you post the instruction photo Fold a cover support sent you?

On a postive note, I really like the toyota short bed rubber bed mat installed today and a hitchmate / divider bar.
