Morning

 

Any good plans this weekend? I am repairing a burst pipe to my exterior faucet, and then doing the final touches in my personal life to get ready for my kid! Supposed to be coming along first week of May, but the wife is already 3 cm dilated so there is a general agreement that he will be early.

 

Soil temps are finally warm enough for me to get my peas, beans, and root veggies planted so I'll be tilling those beds and doing that this weekend. I'm setting up hoops for the rest of the garden beds tonight, to get those warmed up enough to get the rest of the stuff in. Plus the hoops will protect the seedlings from any frosts that we might get over the next week or two.

 

Congrats on the kiddo! Life changing for sure. Got two little ones myself. Not gonna lie, it's tough and a huge change. Good luck to you and your wife and hope it all goes well!

 

What are hoops, like a temporary green house thing?

 

Yard work! Spring clean up, all the crap that the kids have destroyed all winter long and now i can get rid of the leaves in the pool area i never got to in the fall

 

General chores, gym and going to out to breakfast Sunday hwre

 

This weekend, I need to get my yard into shape and give it the first mow. I might actually even get my motorcycle inspected this year.

 

Agreed with possibly mowing the yard for the first time. Grass has been growing for quite a bit, plus with having put down Step 1 already it's looking a bit "shaggy" already. I think we're getting rain on Friday and Saturday down here though, so might have to wait.

 

I mowed last weekend. We bought our house mid-summer last year and the backyard was already crap and couldn't do anything about it that time of year. I dethatched the backyard this past weekend and put down a good amount of seed. Been watering every night this week. Hopefully the seed will

 

Buying a new trailer this weekend, and hopefully outfitting it for the bikes. First track day of the year coming up!

 

Installing my summers on the evo and hopefully my catalytic converter with hopes of passing MAC and getting cleared to pass emissions next week. Might wash the windows on the truck, replace the wipers and prep it with rainX. Whatever windshield wiper fluid they use at the dealership is junk, might drain it and put rainx fluid in it.

Yeah, scaled down to the size of an individual bed. I use metal conduit bent in a U shape and cover it with frost cover and it'll raise the temp in there enough to warm the soil up a lot faster.

 

Yessir they do, its an orange bottle. I use it on all my cars except for the truck, they keep topping it off everytime i went in for warranty work and I can't use it fast enough. Now I'm just going to pull the line and drain it.

I still need to pick up leaves from last year....

 

Same as everyone else yard work, yard work and more yard work. I have mowed a couple times already due to the fertilizer and lime but still need to clean the beds of leaves and sticks. I burned my large pile last weekend but I have another building in size everyday after work. Pool needs to be filled and cover pumped and cleaned.

 

I've given up on trying to make my grass nice. Soil is just too dumpy, too much shade, and I don't like to use fertilizer since I'm on a lake. There's a certain point where the crab grass doesn't look half bad

 

And its a hell of a lot easier to maintain!
