    I don't care what car I'm in. It's never a good time.

There's a reason manual transmissions are going the way of the dinosaur. The fact that Toyota can't design and mate a halfway decent tranny and motor combo for their third gen is sad.

Got my truck in Oct and I love it. I've had no issues except water in license plate light and funky rear window seals. I've had no issues with the transmission, It takes a couple months for the truck to learn your driving style and for you to learn the new transmission. After that its great, powerful off the line and shifts like its supposed to. Go for it!

I had a few minor build quality issues when I first got my truck, (stained door panel, loose fabric on one seat) but all were addressed by the dealer. I'm 3 or so months into my ownership and love the truck. It does everything well, and I actually enjoy driving it.

Not in many cases. In fact many of us have over 7k to 10k miles and our trucks still shift like shit

I have a couple of minor issues, such as the lack of a power seat and lifts for the front hood, but the only real annoyance I have with my manual transmission is that the downshift from fifth to fourth is not easy to make with precision, and at least half the time I end up in second.

There's a third party hood lift kit I'll be ordering. I wish there was a way to "electrify" the seat adjustment, at least on the driver's side.

I've got about 1100 miles on mine. Steering is fine, no vibrations, no strange clunks coming out of the rear end, no leaks, et cetera, and I'm getting 23 mpg on the highway and about 21 around town. I live in the 'burbs, and the stop and go traffic is only moderate here.

Find yourself a late manufactured used 2015. It has a transmission that was designed for a V8.

Unless you really need a sunroof or wireless charging then get the inferior "3rd" gen.

Why? Are you going to diagnose and provide consumer-friendly solutions from a photo? I'd like to hear more about how you plan to do this.

Well after looking it up I now know what Grindr is. Bit surprising he would mention it. Was he hitting on vlocos? Nevermind, he seems to be a pillar of this community very helpful. I will stop derailing the intended topic of this thread.

Got my truck at the end of Feb. I have 1900 miles on it.
No major complaints. Sure it was shifting a little odd at 500miles had it checked and was 2qt low and they topped it off. Been smoother since. It does like to fight you to stay as low RPM as possible and doesnt shift when you want it to on grades and such unless you give it a decent amount of foot. Not the end of the world.
I am getting about 19mpg on my drive to work which has a crap load of hills around my town regular I get about 20-21mpg.
Zerk fittings had no grease. I greased them up end of story,
Ubolts not trq right. I trqed them up end of story.
other then the trans wanting to not give you more power on grades and such by downshifting without having to put your foot in it I have really zero complaints.
No vibration or buzzing, the wind howl I fixed that with some closed cell sponge in the holes in the lower arms.
Have to say this forum seems to be filled with alot of cry babies and trash talkers if you dont have what they have
I have alot of tools on my ignore list

only here in the good ol' us of a. Most everywhere else in the world, manuals still dominate. I'm sure in 10 years if I need a new car, I'll have to import it from overseas :(

I wonder what the ratio of manuals vs auto is in Canada? Are they disappearing up there too?
