I watched that video before taking the job on. Unfortunately I ran into this problem. With my luck, of course.

I'd squirt it with some PB blaster for now.

All I got for the time being. I'll squirt it with PB for now for sure.

    4.7 is awesome. Love those.

Also @ramonortiz55 if you find a 2wd 3rd gen in AZ or CA let me know please.
From what I've read the 4.7 puts out 270 hp with 315 foot pounds of torque :notsure:

I've seen people do the swap with the 2UZ but never the 1UR or 3UR. From what I saw it took a lot of work and modification for the 2UZ. How much easier/harder would the others be?

Hate to break the news, but I read an article recently that stated TRD has scrapped their supercharger program. They'll still sell some parts, but are discontinuing sales of the superchargers. Better buy them up now, I bet prices will sore on new units.

If I'm not mistaken, I think this is only on certain superchargers; not all. The 5VZ for example has been stopped but another company has picked up the plans and building.

Fuuuuuck no. Its for my friend Nathan. He's been struggling to find a replacement since he rolled his old one last winter. Also I'd never go 2wd. I feel like that's just a waste

5 lb mini sledge and more PBBlaster. I wouldn't rule out a full size sledge, just choke up the handle a bit.

The 05-06 VVTI version puts out 270 HP, but the 00-04 non-VVTI only has about 240 HP.

I don't think the 5.7 will fit in a 3rd gen engine bay, the 4.7 is snug enough.

That makes sense. So if he gets a 2UZ, @Russtoy should use the later engine
No lol. Also I would think a 2wd would be darker than 2nd gen

Depends on what he wants to do with it. The 4.7 superchargers are only built for the non-VVTI engines, but have been retrofitted for use on the VVTI ones. I don't know how much HP is gained by the 4.7 SC, but heard it wasn't a ton. Also the 4.7's have piston issues when boosted, which is one of the reasons they never developed the VVTI SC. I've thought about trying to retrofit the SC onto my VVTI Tundra, but just not sure if it's worth it with all the unknowns and specialty parts needed. Would be sweet though.

It's the connecting rods that are the weak link. I have an '04 Tundra DC 4WD with the TRD charger and the truck rips. Sounds amazing also.
