Nothing yet... Bought it with TWO miles on it!!!
    2016 DCLB TRDOR 4x4, 4500 miles.
On a road trip from Phoenix, AZ to Amarillo, TX. I'm running 75-77 mph. If I don't use cruise, it will jump around from 5th to 6th. If I put the cruise on, it CONSISTENTLY jumps into 4th and stays there. If I begin on a descent of a small hill, it will eventually get out of 4th.

Anyone else have that issue? Anyone know the reason why?

    Good news though, 19.6mpg avg!

Tacoma's have never had good cruise control.

Gear hunting and over rev is the name of the game!

No fix for it, except use your pedal on inclines and learn the need to do so - or deal with it.

The EPA ratings are for the 3.5 L auto AC, or the 3.5 L manual AC, or the 2.7 auto AC, or 2.7 manual AC.

The DCLB is the largest configuration and despite what the sticker says - it's not the rating for that configuration.

Fellas (and ladies), not tryin to start anything. So pointless comments like "here we go again" add nothing to the conversation.
If my wife noticed the same issue, then it is something prevalent. Hence, the reason for my question.

As for the 19.6? I'm lovin it. Better than the 13.5 I would get in my lifted Avalanche.

There is only a 60 lb weight different between DCLB and DCSB (V6 by default since the 2.7 is not offered in the DCLB). It says 23 mpg on the sticker. That is what it is rated at.

EPA ratings are not for the DCs, is what I said, regardless of all else.

They're all based on the ACs, which is the smallest configuration. Back when the RC was still alive, the DCSB 2.7 auto Prerunner was given the EPA ratings for the RC 2.7 auto 4x4. The V6 DC was given the EPA ratings for the V6 AC, etc,. etc,. etc,.

Nothing to do with the truck configuration and everything to do with drivetrain configuration.

I agree, the cruise control has some issues with not up shifting. I hardly ever use it, unless I'm on flat land.

Yes... !! Believe it or not...it allowed the tranny to shift back after a down shift for a hill or a pass..

Before, the tranny would "hang" in 4th or 5th for a long time or till when I hit the gas pedal...

THis was while IN cruise ...

This topic has been discussed at least a few times just this week. A quick "search" will answer your questions without needing to start a whole new discussion.

Sorry. Not the most technologically advanced person. I didn't see any harm in asking a question.

These conversations get repeated over and over because most of it is based on misunderstanding or misinformation on the transmissions programming. The 6 speed is a double overdrive, meaning if you just put it in D and go its gonna hunt like a mofo. In order to use any overdrive, the vehicle speed has to be greater than the load placed on the gears or it will downshift. Add 2 overdrives that are designed for better fuel mileage, they are programmed to be defaulted to at high speeds, throw in traffic slowing, grades, overpasses and the tranny will hunt quite often.
I haven't used CC yet but I have found that going on the freeway up to 65 it doesn't hunt, and up to 75 in 5th and it doesn't hunt. With or Without CC the principle is the same.
Its not that big of deal to put it in sport mode, for me I put it in 3 in the canyon where I live and 4th when on low speed rural roads (trans shifts automatically between all the gears selected) and kick it up to 5 or 6 on the freeway depending on traffic flow. My MPGs are 14 around town with ect on and have gotten 19-20+ on open road high speed low rpm cruising.
