Correct. The 7.3PSD was their last good motor. Everything else was unreliable.

The 7.3 is bullet proof. I had one in a 5 speed 97 short bed short cab 4x4 f350. What a great motor. 1st gear was useless unless you were pulling the old off grandma.

I just think its funny that since the 6.0 came out everyone has bashed ford saying they need to ditch International, but ignore the fact that if it weren't for international ford would never have a diesel. Internaitonal got ford into diesels back with the non-turboed 6.9

They needed to ditch them because they designed and made them a flawed motor when they did the 6.0. The 7.3 was so reliable. People that tow for a living didn't tolerate the switch from a venerable motor to a flawed one.

My sister in law has a 6.0 250 and it has left her stranded 4 times.

My good friend had a 6.0 excursion and it stranded him on his first tow with it.

    I loved my 6.0.

The 6.4 is far from junk btw.

the Taurus is a great car but Ford not wanting to make a happy customer was enough for me to write them off....

product good - customer service bad

very nice truck with the exception of the rear wheel wells. they don't follow any body lines and look totally out of place. kind of like the dodge's with the dual rear wheels.

Ford has really stepped it up in the last 3 years... Im very happy with them. I'm starting to get concerned about Toyota and Nissan now

Now I know looks are only one aspect, but Ford is really stepping it up. In a world of odd looking fullsize pickups, Ford has the best "solid" looking pickup on the road. IMHO, of course:)
