Did you do the voice training set up. Also there is a mic sensitivity setting as well.

I don't use voice that much but it does work for me.

Wow. I saw someone complained about "another 4-cyl thread" at the beginning. But some of these posts are really good and useful. Thanks.

Ironically enough the vast majority of engine specific threads on this site are for the 6s... Although those threads are usually trying to diagnose a problem. :stirthepot:

How does the offroading-ability of the SR and SR5 4-cyl with the electronic LSD (braking I supposed) stack up to the V6 with ATRAC and the locking diff?

I also noticed you can only get the 5-speed manual 4-cyl in the SR with an Access cab. It's not available with the double-cab or the SR5 access cab. I got this from the Toyota site. How true is this?

2016 4wd AC, MT with a mix of 50-50 hwy-city with around 7000mi on it has had a low of 18.1 and high of 21.77, depending on weather. Overall haven't had a long road trip yet. YTD overall for me is 20.05mpg and I don't baby it.

Hey guys reporting in on my 4banger 5speed 4x4. Love the truck, gets great mpg and drives nice. I'm amazed at all the features it gets compared to the previous sr, happy I waited. Looking forward to wheeling it.
Had a question though, anyone else have backfire on start up?

I had a 2011 tacoma standard cab 2.7 auto. And traded in for 2016 Tacoma SR I have 4000 miles on it. I haul about 800 lbs around with me everywhere. I am getting 16 to 17mpg 50-50 hwy- city. My 2011 got 18mpg I would like to see better but I guess is what it is. It is a heavier truck than the last one. And a lot more comfortable to drive.

All these mpg numbers have me jealous! I'm at ~7500mi, and my driving is either around town or on hour or more trips. I don't think I've ever seen above 19mpg. On the one long trip I've taken in the truck (440mi), I know I never saw above 19mpg. Granted, this was with cruise control most of the trip and it loves to stay in 4th gear. Maybe I could get better mileage without the Cruise Control.

I have been using the ect power button every time I get in the truck and noticed that it does lug the motor in one gear too long witch = using more fuel. It shifts alot more on freeway but my last tank got 2 mpg more. I want to go threw 2 more tanks to be shore.

My mpgs have actually gotten better now, I have 5000 miles on the truck and I'm getting 24.5 calculated 75% highway.

Anyone noticed an mpg drop with 91 octane fuel? I used that my last fill-up and my mpgs are down two miles per gallon or so.

No reason to use 91 with the stock setup, that's just a waste of money.

Unless you have some kind of forced induction setup (blower or turbo) running high octane is just a waste of $$$

Only additive that might help is a bottle of injector cleaner from time to time to keep those puppies clean
