They don't look like pizza cutters. My truck compared to 3 GMs with 265-285's

I just installed 255/85-16's ST MAXX's yesterday. My spare is a regular alloy TRD Off-Road wheel (not the steel spare). I cut those spare "guide" tabs off and it fits perfectly in the stock location. With those tabs gone you'll want to make sure the tire is centered when tightening the hoist but absolutely no issue with it fitting. I can post pics when I get home from work if you want (you'll probably have to remind me, lol) but I promise it fits great if you cut those tabs.

And the spare is not going to contact the diff under compression?

Love my 255's. I came from 285 and they are a little narrower but not much in my opinion. Also a 255 will fit in the stock Spotify you bend the tabs. Or just get creative and mount it in any ol spot

It's close but no. I could move it back a little more but it's fine.

I already cut my exhaust above the axle so no worries there.

    never ending..
I also cut the tabs, you will need to watch the tire. I have had plenty of contact with the dif... enough to rub all the paint off with my 285 km2 shoved under there. the tire likes to settle more forward. I had to use a tie down to hold it back. And yes, I made sure the tire was properly put on the hoist and pulled the tire up as tight as it will go. hit or miss in my opinion lol But I can tell you I WOULD do it again as I prefer the tire underneath.

the exhaust or at least my factory exhaust had a little heat-shield right next to the tire and no problems either

P.S. MY TRUCK IS AT THE SHOP TO GET MY 285s RIGHT NOW!!!!! WOOOOOHOOOO so when I get off work it will be ready to pick up.!!!!!:bananadance:

how much are you guys getting you 255/85/16's for? I can only find them at one place locally, and they won't bring in 255's, only 265 or 285. I got quoted $1400 for 5 265's mounted/balanced/with lifetime rotate/balance and tire repair.

Amazon has 255's on prime for $254...
