Leer 180 with liner, split window. Love it. Wanted to put in a compression boot but they don't work that well so skipped it. [IMG]

Is there a reason why the topper's slant forwards (from the side profile) like a hatchback so much and why they're not straight up (boxier).

I'd think having a boxier looking looking side profile might give the rear end of these trucks a little stronger line.

The slant in the rear is for aerodynamics. Straight up and down and it would create even more vacumn than it already does.
    Boxier wouldn't look good.

Anyone have a picture of a Double cab short box with a mid rise cap? I am trying to decide between cab high and mid rise?

Sure. I really like it. It breaks up the long feel to the truck, and gives extra room inside to an already really small bed. I have dogs and have built a bed for them against the cab, so they really like the extra head room. It also leaves room for a locker on the cieling etc.

yes Tarandus, that is exactly what I mean by mid rise. I have been looking at the Leer 180 and the ARE MX. In my opinion though the caps look quite different on the short box vs the longer box (which is what most of the pictures I can find are)

I like the idea of a little more head room with the mid rise caps but I'm not sure what look I like better (Cab high or mid rise) and thats why I was looking for more pictures of the mid rise cap on a short box so I can try to make up my mind and GET ONE ORDERED!!! I know either one will probably be fine but like a lot of others I would guess, I am picky about how my truck looks.

Can't wait, my Century Royal should be here in the next two weeks. Looked at snug, leer, Jason, and arc. Based on everything I looked at the century was hands down the best for the money (molded in windows, curved rear door, bulb seal, etc...)

What height cap did you decide to go with? Cab height or mid rise?

Kinda on the line as to whether to order one of these. Heard some negative comments about Century but I keep coming back to this one due to looks and price. Let us know how you like it when it comes in. Did you actually look at one before purchase? I can't find anything but pictures to look at.

Really? I'd be curious to hear what problems you've heard. Around here Century has a pretty solid rep. I was leaning towards a leer before the century due to the issues some members are having on TW. As for seeing one in person, my dealer had several tonnue covers and a few different models but not a royal. Finish looked every bit as good as the AREs they had if not better (liked the curved glass look on the century better). After learning that the same parent company owns both leer and century I decided to go with the best value.

One of these topper threads someone was commenting about them and didn't think they were of as good a quality as Leer. But the 2 dealers I have talked to seemed to have sold a good many of these and said they haven't had problems..
It is probably like anything else - some people are going to have good and some bad experiences with all of them. I think I will go ahead and order the Royal. Price is much better than the equivalent Leer. Gonna get the folding front window and lining.
