I heard they were ticketing people for going up there during mud season this year. I got wind of crazy fines upwards of 200$ a person, but those could have just been lies.

Nothing was posted at the base check in station before I went up.
The trails were incredibly dry more than likely due to our sucky Winter.
I am conscientious hiker & uber prepared. It is the Army and my upbringing.
Now there we're people up there that had no business, in shorts, no spikes.
One guy took a nasty fall at the top.
You have to be careful of the tundra like plants.
Do not know about the tickets though. I haven't hiked this early ever.
    Usually after Memorial Day.

I heard it was really nice and dry from a few other people too. I was up in the Mansfield area the other day and didn't think much of the mostly dry ground, no signs there either. I did see they have a post online about the mud.

k, couple of things Vermonters!! Here is a flyer I saw for the Vermonster 4x4 this coming weekend.
Also will be selling some stock 16" TRD OR alloys, tires & sensors, no lugs nuts soon. Pics to come. The tires are fair condition.
Everything else (rims/sensors) good to go. PM me if interested. I'm in the Burlington area not on CL yet.

If any of you guys are interested there is a fb page called New England Tacomas.
On May 14 2016 were having a get together trail ride starting at the Long Trail Brewery in Bridgewater VT.
If your close enough to come out and ride we would sure like to increase the number of people going.

I put a request in to join your group. If anybody wants to join us there will be stock trucks so the route will be planned accordingly. But as with all the trails there's always stuff the bigger trucks can hit while the stockers go around.

Hey I stopped at Rack N Reel on RT 7 in New Haven. What an awesome store!
Anything fishing, hunting, guns, kayak, yeti, fly fishing, bows, all kinds of gear and apparel.
I have driven by it countless times going from Burlington to points south on 7.
Will have to stop more often. Picked up some on sale Rocky gear for Mother's Day.
Owners on site and super helpful.

If you are willing to drive there's a shop in bridgewater vt called performance unlimited . Google them, they are they only off road specialty shop I am aware of in this area. The guy has built rovers, jeeps, race car stuff and even has a rock bouncer in the driveway. There's also a rock garden course on the side hill of the property.
