I almost ordered 4.88s but my concern is freeway driving, I have to go to placates twice a week and I drive to CO 1-2 times a month.

I'm happy with mine for freeway. I have a K&N CAI which makes it super loud, the tires don't help either. But I think with a stock airbox you should be fine.

Your on 285's right? My tires are pretty loud, I do plan on doing a different intake at some point. My main concern is taking the load away from the trans and putting to much on the motor.

Yeah 285's. But physically measured out to closer to 35 for some reason. I dont have an option to monitor tran temp so im not sure how much the gears have helped. I know that it does not seem to like big hills at freeway spee, and that the speedo reads low by about 5.

It is very noticeable how much the Trans is having trouble with my tires. I guess I'll have to try 4.88s and see how it goes.

I've had 4.88 on 33s and it sucked for fuel mileage, if you're into that stuff. The same 4.88s and 36s were better with all the added weight to my truck.

I put the 35s on the truck 2/17/16 and have pretty much babied it because I know I need gears. everything under that is 285s and my heavy foot.

I seem to be getting around the 11.6-12.9 mark consistently, and can seem to use an extreme amount of gas daily with my heavy footed driving. Best I got was 14.1 and that was mainly all flat highway and right at the speed limit.

I don't mind the bad mileage even though it kind of sucks when my last truck was a 3/4 ton on 37s and got 18mpg with a heavy foot.:burnrubber:

The 35s were very unexpected, I wasn't going to do them until after I finished the long travel this summer but I got a very good deal trading in my AT KO2s for the muds that I couldn't pass up so my upgrade list is getting twisted around. :sawzall:

It was a Duramax maybe down the road I'll jam a diesel in it. I don't really mind the crap mileage as I expected it anyways.

I don't worry about gas mileage after I swapped in the solid front axle. But my 4 banger still got about 18-20 mpg.

I know it has been tried in the past to not much success... But we need to figure out a monthly meetup. Something like the first Thursday of the month or something like that. Great way to talk trail runs, swap parts, just meet up and have a burger, whatever. Am I the only one who is interested or should we get this going!?

With the old taco crew this was pretty often, I still talk with some of the old guys but never done a run with you all this far. Maybe something will kick off.
