Jeep, a new adventure every time you hit the trail. I have wheeled mine all over the US. Just tow it to the trail, it will break down, lots of fun to fix, wheel some more, then tow the POS home. Here is mine at Moab.

Cabin noise level is not bad at all, there are some minor rattles inside the truck on rough roads, The exhaust sounds really good with the window down. I like the seating position and adjustability, they are firm but I've done long trips and never felt uncomfortable. Turning radius could be better but im used to it, I find myself against the steering stops pretty often, the steering feel is very solid though. Fuel economy is better than expected, 18 city 22.5 highway with the 6MT. Seems the automatic crew cabs are considerably worse on fuel. Reverse is quite steep and takes time to get used to.

Overall I really like it and prefer it to the 2nd gen Tacoma I had. The truck is smaller overall and the cab is about as small as I'd want.

I drove a Wrangler JK a few years ago when I was wanting to get a truck or Jeep. The shit is so basic and uncomfortable. I hated it. It did turn very sharp at the end of a cul-de-sac, though.

Buddy of mine had nightmare issues with jeep Chrysler 2014 products. Man, was he spitting flames.
    Good luck.
Love my 68 FJ40, loved my 02 SR5 TAHOMA, and plan to keep the 16.
Good luck with your jeep. Seriously. Not all products are the same. Best of luck with your new acquisition.

My 05 Gen 2 Tacoma is excellent. Its still on the road today.

But that is strange... you'd almost think the first year of a new revision to a truck would be the worse then they'd straighten out issues & Q/C as they learn to build them more efficiently. If you look at the issues with the 2nd Gen Tacomas 2005 was one of Toyota's best years for production.

    hmmm...

Put it in neutral when slowing down and the vibs are gone. Im leaning towards tq converter locking / unlocking. Watch the rpms when slowing to stop. They will drop to 500rpm then rumble back to 1500rpm then rumble back to 500rpm. Dealer told me the ecu is responsible for the lockup tq converter operation. He said it needs a reflash....

Just use S4 in the city and traffic. Only use D on interstate. If u wanna feel more performance use the ECT mode. it keeps u out of 5th and 6th untill u need it.

Aint nobody got time for 6th gear @35mph....

Remember this motor dosent make peak hp untill right under redline. So if u lug the engine yeah its sluggish as fuxk.

Ever ridin a 2-stroke??? Gotta use more skinny peddle and keep it up in the highr rpm range for performance.

Its a 4x4 off road mini truck for crying out loud!! Not a buick road warrior!.

These are some of the coolest off road trucks on the market right now.

THROW A LIFT AND TIRES ON IT AND DRIVE THE SHIT OUT OF IT!!!:mudding:

I wouldn't mind having a 2016 Taco to accompany my other Yotas. It would have to have a Relentless Fab bumper though. That original front end needs improvement and Relentless Fabrication does just that.

I wouldn't have taken a loss. I would have held Toyota accountable for all the issues. It was still under warranty. As far as the engine being sluggish, did you not do a test drive before you bought it? I drove one and immediately noticed how sluggish it was compared to my 2nd gen. That new Trans isn't for me!! Lol I'll never buy an all new vehicle the first year on the market. I don't care how much they say they test them. The issues don't start showing up till you have thousands on the road. Sorry for your issues OP. Hopen your next one is better

    Adios! Asta-La vista! WTG!

"Water in tag lights 3 times" I specifically put the hose on there, no problemo. But if I had, nothing some RTV black wouldn't fix. Better than taking a 6k loss! :/
"sluggish engine, shifting trans" No such issue here, but if I had I'd try the ECT button and then use the "smart phone" to show the dealer and everyone here on TW. We literally have in-resident geniuses on here at TW that would find a fix.
"17-18 mpg"...Try airing up your tires to within 3psi of maximum load as stated on the side wall of each tire. Problem solved.
"vibration when slowing to a stop"...Take tires off, rotate, and by hand, slowly hand tighten each wheel while jiggling, rotating and evenly tighten to specified torque. Problem solved.
Best of luck with your next ride.

I don't have an exact amount but that's a rough estimate from what I lost. What are taxes?

Jk, but the taxes I paid on that went towards my new truck. Don't know the exact figure

You take it personal when people are critical of a product they purchased for their own use? Weird.

Let me see. You bought a statistically more reliable vehicle and had some issues with it. With this sort of luck you have sold that vehicle loosing shit load of money.

And after that you bought statistically one of the most unreliable vehicles on the market expecting it to be problem free. Do I understand it right?

Well, have fun and I wish you luck with your Jeep.
