Looks nice first satoshi Ive seen on a 1st gen. Did you get the fenders professionally painted. Mine are sanded right now ready to get done.

EDIT: I had mine fenders painted black sand pearl before and after 2 years they peeled. Scared to do it again although I think it wasn't done right the first time.

I got the mesh from a local store in sac. i just started by craigslisting mesh and i ended up with that... i spent 30 dollars on a big roll of it... i can make like at least 10 more grills. but compared to some online sites its a lot cheaper... anyways... good luck finding yours.

illl try to remember that... i just ordered some from ddmtuning.com yesterday... really cheap.. 100 bux after shipping but i got bixenon 55watt... and from what i heard on this forum, 55 watt is overkill but i also heard good things about it so when i install em ill let you have my opinion on it. O yeh and just incase u dont kno.... buy the h4 hi/low option. thats what our trucks use... i got 5000k and a lot of people like 6000k. anyways.. ill post up pix when i install em .. gl..

Did you get the paint at a dealership? Is it in a aerosol can? If you don't mind me asking.

nasty dent on driver's side bed panel, shabby seats, cigarette burned interior roof, missing berf bar pad, cracked rain visor, removed hood scoop, unmentionable stain on back bench?
so basically you took the grill off and replced it with a fine mesh aluminum mesh?

and then painted the whole thing?

How did you secure the mesh to the front piece?

And did you do work to the area just under the grill? I ask because that same area/ piece is chrome on my truck, and that would not look well. Could I paint over that area as well?

I was thinking of doing everything and then taking the pieces to a cheap paint shop near me, they'll do it better than I ever would.

Gotta to admit man I really dig that look :)

I knew I should've done a write-up but i just didn't have time to take pictures... and do alll that work. I'll try to describe how its done though... Okay so the aluminum mesh i cut out and painted it seperately (gloss black). aafter i cut out the old grill i sanded it down, bondo , sand again and again, then i spray painted it (the part around the inside of the grill, not the outside) i had the chrome professionally painted... i bought it that way =) luck me. to secure the mesh i drilled a bunch of 1/4'' holes around the inside flanges of the grill where it can't be seen (in the back) and zip-tied it. I recommend you taping up the chrome and stuff before you paint it.. the only part you should paint is the inside part of the grill.... look at the second gen write - up i followed that basically the same way except securing the mesh and cutting off two brackets...
