Looks great! Well I am going with the 3/1 pro comp lift and think 275\70\17 would fit and look good. DO you agree? I'm so undecided. i was set on Nitto Terra Grappler 2 but they don't make that size, so my next choice is the Cooper Discover AT3. I think they will give me the "truck" look i'm looking for.

2nd to 3rd gen not the same on the passenger side. Driver side on the 3rd gen is the same procedure of bending the inner fender in order to remove the bolt. However, on the passenger side, in my experience(I've actually installed several sets) you cannot bend the inner fender enough to get the bolt out. So, a 5 inch heavy metal blade on a sawzall, and your done. Quick, easy and on to the next task.

Thanks allot everybody! I'll get them ordered up quick. Save me the trouble of having it apart and not having what I need. I'll make sure I use the heavy metal blade for the install:rockband:

Yup, got mine at Wheelers as well. Added them on the order when I got the 3-leaf progressive leaf pack. Local dealer wanted $25/ea + tax.

Can someone post a quick overview of how to install the 3 leaf progressive AAL? I got the ones from headstrong offroad. Just wondering if there's any drilling out of the rivits involved with the 3rd gen. I have a TRD offroad 4x4 for what it's worth.

If it's anything like the icon progressive aal, then yes, you'll have to drill out a rivet and remove a spring clamp closest to the axle. I used a cut off wheel to grind an "x" in hehe rivet head first. Makes drilling it much easier and faster.

Edit: there are two rivets and clamps on the leaf pack towards the rear of the truck, the one that needs to go is the closest one to the axle as it interferes with the longest leaf in the new aal

I just went to take a look and there are 4 spring clamps per side. Did you drill out both front and rear spring clamps that are closest to the axle? I would think both since the length of the new AAL would interfere with these...

Also once you drill out the spring clamp rivets, the AAL's pre installed side clamps will essentially replace the ones you just drilled out to keep the leafs aligned, correct?

Just the one on the rear that's closest to the axle. And yes you are correct, the new ones on the aal will replace it. Granted, I've only installed a few of the icon progressive aal but I can't imagine the other brands being different. Oddly enough, the single deaver aal doesn't require any drilling.

    Quick question..

If I upgrade to wheels that are 17x8 instead of the stock 17x7, will I have to get new tires?

Currently running Toyo OC A/T II 265/70/R17

That's good to know. I was thinking my wheel selection would be limited to 17x8 unless I bought new tires.

    Thanks

    One more question, for now..

Is everyone that lifts a 3rd gen running a 1/4in spacer on the driver front to compensate for "Taco Lean"?

Okay so If I go with the 5100/885 setup then the 1/4 spacer is needed. Got it. Thank you
