Not sure if anyone say my post earlier about a question I had about my horn... but just as a follow up to that, figured I'd throw something in here that I found out. Everyone may already know this, but me being a complete newb at this I didn't know and found out when I called my local Toyota dealer.

I guess there is a high and a low horn on the truck. I thought they were the same, meaning, it's either two high or two low. But nope, one of each.

Pictures? Are you talking about the stud on the back of the horn? Did you rip it out of the plastic part of the horn, or break the stud itself?

 

Sorry, forgot to snap a pic last night and this morning. Talking about the stud itself on the back. I broke it off while trying to unscrew the nut. Wasn't paying attention and BAM! Turned the wrong direction, applied a little too much force, and snap.

JB weld, or a real welder if you've got one. There's not a lot of tension on there, so JB weld should hold just fine if you clean it up in good shape first.

Some of those suit/skirt things they wear are pretty sexy. Not to mention what the heels do for their butts.

Planning a trip to ME with the GF and the two pups at the end of June. Probably going to do the whole week. Half of it we are staying a friends cabin in new Portland for a clam bake. But we will be camping in different area's or renting a small cabin somewhere the first half. Coming up with a list of stuff. Number one on my list is katahdin but I think the GF would be a bit stressed by that long of a hike. Probably doing whitewater rafting and maybe try to get to that in the wood railroad.

If my truck comes it will be on a trailer and I won't get it till halfway through the week, as I'm not driving it that far to break it without a trailer home. And my buddy's trailer fits my truck and his jeep. Plan on some trails near friends cabin.

So everything else needs to be Subaru friendly. Anyone got good idea's? Have kayak will travel.

If she's interested in a good hike but not a Katahdin-length one, you guys should look into staying at the South Branch campground. The Traveler's trail is a great hike with some really nice views, and you can either do the 11 mile loop or the (I think) 6 mile up & back on just Traveler itself. Plus the South Branch ponds are some really nice kayaking. The water is crystal clear so on a sunny day you can see bottom from pretty much anywhere, even where the water's 40-50 feet deep.

Yep, new horn. They're cheap, you can get them on Amazon for like $10.

If he buys a train horn, I'll personally come down to smack him because clearly he's not thinking straight.

 

I guess I just have to figure out if it's the high or low. Going to try the JB Weld like Noel suggested first and see what happens.

I'm sure they make stuff like that for cars/trucks... right?!

They do make kits for vehicles, they're stupid obnoxious and cost over $300. Personally, if I were going to replace the horn, I'd go with the Hella kit. Louder than stock, but still an electric horn.

 

Interesting... Hella Kit you say?! Something else to spend some more $$ on then. I might check that out! Do you know if it's "plug and play" with the wiring and plugs that are on the truck already?! I guess I can figure that out once I look into it.
