How is a warranty voided if you go to another garage to have a regular oil change?

That is my question of the day. The warranty says nothing about every oil change having to be done at Toyota. I took my truck to get a regular oil change at another garage. My toyota dealership says, oh yeah warranty doesn't say that you can't but we are still voiding it.

 

As long as you keep records of the oil changes it is against the law for them to do that.

 

I don't think that is legal. There is some kind of ruling around that states this. You can take it anywhere

As long as you have verification that the service was performed within the specified intervials and with an oil that meets the required specifications, Toyota cannot void the warranty. I would suggest that you call Toyota Customer Service at:

sounds like BS to me. maybe u should call up another toyota dealership, & get a 2nd opinion about the warranty, & not mention what the 1st dealership told ya, until after u get ur answer from the 2nd dealer.
