Here are some arguments that many people have probably used on their wives:

Front Armor: If we hit a deer in the middle of nowhere, our vehicle will be disabled.

Skids: it will cost $1000 if our catalytic converters get stolen. This will help deter that.

HC Rear: The body shop will charge us over $1000 to repair a damaged quarter panel. This purchase makes sense.

Suspension: The ride will be smoother and you won't spill your tea.

Camper/ RTT: Do you want to sleep on the ground with the snakes?

Big tires: Easier to roll over zombies after the apocalypse.

Worked for me with minimal eye rolling.

 

My cat was $1400 if it helps anybody's domestic situation.

My ARB fridge/freezer has been on duty in the garage for about a year outside of the camper trailer providing extra capacity for overflow steak gift packs from inlaws and for things displaced by my wife's precious bodily fluids (breast milk) in the main house freezer. This was an advance selling point, and luckily it didn't require me to hit a deer to prove it.

But I will be very happy when it is back to keeping a twelver of Racer 5 cold in the garage for me, and back in the teardrop for camping, its preferred natural habitat.
