Today I was driving in the most ridiculous traffic I have encountered in a few years. I was sitting a dead still, and I was looking at my phone and I guess I let a little pressure off the break and boom. I was pretty pissed thinking great now I have to pay a deductible to get this lady's car fixed. It busted her bumper and put a nice crease in my bull bar, but the lady looked at it and said, oh well, I will fix it later, and got in her car and drove off. So since it was my fault, I was like OK, have a good day and Im sorry. Whew! I got away with one here. Note to everyone, leave your damn cell phones alone while in the drivers seat, or just put the ebrake on. LOL

Yah, you got lucky with this one. It seems too many people nowadays would be screaming: I think you broke my neck!" And I agree with you about the phone. I never mess with it while driving. That's what voicemail is for. :D

Cell phones+driving=bad. We've all done it. And we've all had some pretty damn close calls, or in your case an accident.

    It's just not worth it.

Glad to hear you didn't get screwed over legally.

My last Tacoma I got "bumped" by a guy in an IH Scout. He was pre-occupied with some balloons he got from his girl for his birthday. It put a 3" dent in my bumper, so I told him forget about it, it's not worth the hassle to fix something that minor. Guess she felt the same way.
    Glad everyone is OK.

You guys should follow Ontario and Quebecs example :p, its now illegal to be on your phone while driving, probably will expand to the rest of Canada soon

It's in effect in Colorado now that it's ILLEGAL to text while driving & hands free devices are required to talk while driving.

That sucks man. I have done the exact same thing before. I was driving my moms ford expedition, sitting at a stop light looking at my cell phone and I guess I didn't have the brake pedal pressed all the way. Inched into the back of a chrysler minivan. $2,000 for a new bumper and tailgate for the minivan and only a tiny little ding in the big chrome bumper on the front my mom's expedition. That was about 6.5 years ago when I was 18 being a stupid kid on a cell phone.

What sucks is this was 8 days after I totalled my accord (not my fault t-boned an old lady who pulled in front of me) needless to say the insurance company didn't like that too much along with the accident I had a year before and a speeding ticket. Shortly after they raised my premiums to $390 a month.

It should be illegal everywhere!!! Way too many people getting killed by people doing that. AND they are getting away with it.

You could probably sue toyota for that "surge" you get when at a stop. HAHA but I have almost done the same thing, thats why I try not to look at my cell phone while driving

Although at least the OP was stopped.... he just needs to keep a little more pressure on the brake.

What happened to the days where you waited until you got home to talk?? There are VERY FEW things that need to be discussed while driving.

nasty dent on driver's side bed panel, shabby seats, cigarette burned interior roof, missing berf bar pad, cracked rain visor, removed hood scoop, unmentionable stain on back bench?
my truck was recently smashed in the driver side door and quarter panel.
the insurance covered me for a rental while the truck was being repaired
    it was a charger
What piece of shit, and no power either
    nice sound system though

So last monday was our christmas party
I didn't drive afterwards but, after taking the bus home I needed to put that POS charger in the garage for the night
Well I didn't do so good pullin the down the alley and into my garage
I swiped the garbage cans and knocked off the driver side mirror, put a couple decent dents, and scrapped the hell out of the paint

Lesson learned; always get extra insurance on rentals
and even half a block is hard to drive after a 6 hour long christmas party

Yeah...but he had pelicans chasing him. Who wouldn't drive their million dollar super car into a lake under those circumstances? :jerkoff:
