I am looking at a 2009 reg cab 4x4, 5speed, 134,000 miles, single OH owner. Truck seems to be very clean.
    My questions:

What should I be looking at when inspecting?

And would you think $9k is fair for the truck, kbb, seems to be at $8k.

I would take a look at the frame, look out for rust.

Yea, I'd have a trusted mechanic look at the frame and other stuff, but if it all checks out that truck should be good for another 130,000 miles with just good regular maintenance. Offer a less than what they're asking and find some middle ground.

Frame rust. Not just surface, but deep in serious spots. As in whack it with a ball peen.

I'd pay an independent mechanic to check out the mechanical systems, including a compression test, and be asking the owner for service records.

And make sure those aren't 'biologicals' on the drivers seat cover. Ewwww.

Rust still issue with a 2009? I can't get him to move on the price, should I be paying less? I must say, the color is a big point to me, passed on silver for I bit less.

Rust is an issue on any vehicle in the salt belt.

Looks like a decent truck, if the frame is clean it is probably worth it.
