Just wondering who's all been pulled over in their Tacoma on here. Wondering how everyone has faired when its came down to getting a ticket or not. Not sure if a nice truck is a nice conversation starter to loosen the cop up? or a welcoming sign that reads " I must have money since I have a modded yota, give me a ticket". I'm 3 for 6 lifetime in my commuter car, So I guess it cant get any worse in the Tacoma. Oh and lastly.. F*ck the police! just kidding.. Or am I?? o_O

I don't think a modded 30k truck screams I have money. Now my GT3 on the other hand...

I have been pulled multiple times by the police.

    1. Driving through central Washington I was pulled over for no front plate and too wide of tires. I told the cop I uninstalled the front plate because the dealership drilled my bumper and I was waiting to install it a better way. He told me to get mudflaps that covered my 285's better. No ticket.

    2. Driving in western Washington I was pulled for going significantly over the speed limit in the middle of no where. I received a ticket and had it deferred.

    3. Driving in Puerto Rico going over the speed limit. Cop didn't speak English. He let me go. No idea what he actually pulled me over for, just guessing.

    4. Driving in northern Washington. Pulled over for going slightly over. Cop asked if I was in military and I replied yes. He let me go, said slow it down for conditions.

Moral of the story, I've never gotten a cop who cared about my truck haha.

I got pulled over in my home town.just leaving work i got inpatient with the car driving 20 under the speed limit so went around him. When i finally looked into my mirrors i had realized the cop was there. He said he was behind me for two miles with his lights on. The cop swore up and down that it wasnt my truck. Talked my way out of a ticket. Btw ive had run ins with this cop before i was shocked he didnt ticket me.

seems this a statement on the honesty of and our trust (distrust) in law enforcement in this land, or the subject wouldn't even come up.
I for one am a believer in there are more bad ones than good one.
power corrupts, laws only punish the law bidding that have made a honest mistake, laws do make it possible for most of us to be able to live in same world.
thinking might be called corruption??? all should be treat equal???
and what this all got to do with our Tacomas???

Last weekend came over a hill doing 45, cop facing the same direction on the shoulder. He pulls me over and asks if I know how fast I was going. I say 42-43. Asks if I know the limit, I say 35, he says 30. So I give him a surprised look "really"? Makes me wait 5 minutes and gives me a warning. Not bad for 15 mph over.

I'm 0 for 3. Once late at night doing 55 in a 30. Clear record so I got off with a warning. Another time for expired tag. Cop got out and checked out the truck as he walked up but didn't say anything about it. He told me to get a new tag. Other time was something dumb I don't even remember the reason but it was a woman in a terrible mood. She lit me up once I parked at my friend's house where i was going. Like I said it was stupid so obviously no ticket. But she didn't say anything about the truck either.

Got pulled over by a leo because he thought my window's were too tinted. They weren't. He was super nice about it though. No compliment, or otherwise about the truck however.

Second time I was unknowingly speeding because the sign had been obstructed by foliage. Doing 45 in a 25. When the cop realized I hadn't seen the sign he went and checked and ended up thanking me, he alerted someone about it because the next time I drove that way the branches were cut back and the sign was very visible. Nice guy too, he vacations where I live so he asked a lot about the off season which was pretty funny!

I have a terrible record. I've gotten pulled over 7 times and have 5 speeding tickets. One of which is a reckless driving. I have since learned my lesson and drive like a grandpa! The reckless even got me a few days in fail. :burnrubber::ballchain:

I feel that. My first ticket was a reckless at 17. That sucked. Paid 800 bucks and had to write a letter to the judge to keep me out. Lost my license for six months.

    Here's the offending vehicle.

Damn. I had a $500 lawyer, $500 fine and 3 days in jail. Thank GOD the Navy didn't punish me. I was going wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too fast on my streetbike. Ended up selling it shortly thereafter.

I don't think many (if any) police officers care what you're driving. It's HOW you are driving that gets their attention. And then when you're pulled over it's all about your attitude. Be a big talking tough guy and you're not going to win any sympathy points. Be polite, be contrite, yes sir/no sir and chances are you'll get a warning or reduced ticket.

That said, I'm sure some trucks -- big lifts, big tires, lights all over, stickers, etc -- are going to give the officer some preconcieved idea of the driver's personality (rightly or wrongly). So it's always wise to consider what your ride is saying about you.
