they arent seated right. did you use a compressor to compress the coil down before you cranked the top hat on? cant tell from your damn flash if you did that or not on the top of your strut. looks like you are missing bushings.

yes you reuse that black rubber top hat. dumb question and I dont mean to insult intelligence, but is the spring on the right way? The bottom, narrow-er end should "fit" into the shelf that the 5100 adjust ring sits on, it should fit pretty much like a glove.

This is a pic for reference. The black round bottom piece, you'll see a "notch" in it, and that tip of the spring will fit nicely into that, just rotate the spring until it butts up against it and looks seated.

Oh trust me I feel like a idiot. Yes I'm sure the spring is not upside down or anything. But I'm gonna just get it compress at the shop tomorrow so that should solve that problem.

just rent a compressor at autozone. from the pics looks like the coils are sitting free with no load on anything. when you reassemble make sure you have the retainer -> lower bushing -> top hat -> upper bushing -> washer and nut in that order.

should compress the top bushing also until the top nut runs out of thread on the strut stem - this will keep the stem solid in its place and wont move around where the top hat wears away at the stem.

np, small things will save you from a broken stem or blown shock down the road.

I just want to verify something.
So 5100s set at .85 and the 620# springs will give you just under 2.5" of lift right?

OP please consider having a shop fix this. One of my family members just lost a finger. Looking at your results that could very well happen to you, no offense. It's not worth getting injured over. Even the auto zone compressors are sketchy!

This was a really old post. I just wanted to ask a question here because I knew I'd get an answer about this specific suspension combo.
