Sorry, I should have been more specific, I'm talking about the part that is screwed into the bottom of the cab under the backseat that you unscrew with a 14mm socket.

Ordered a set the other day, their inventory said there was a few sets in stock of the black leather. So I pounced, discount code tacomaworld is still valid as well. Hoping that it wasn't just a mistake and there was actually some left in stock, so I am not waiting for ever for them.

Watching their video's, the installer makes it look so darn easy. I imagine there is going to be times when I am going to want to throw them in the garbage when installing as I am going ot get frustrated. But that being said, I recall my wet okoles being a pain to get properly aligned in my second gen. I just rolled them down the seats like in the video, sadly make sure they were lined up, I recall it being a pain to shift it a bit to get everything to line up.

I've had mine on for a couple of weeks now and they continue to break in and look great. The heated seats I added also feel great thru the covers.

Some advice...don't be afraid to really massage and forcefully push and pull on the leather to work it and get the alignment right. The back part will need a bunch of pulling and pushing to get the leather fitted around the bolsters.

The back has holes at the top for the head rest. I saw the hole size and wondered how the hell it'd go over. You need to use the tool like a shoe wedge for your foot and work it around in a circle. I think my leather may have made the slightest tear so really try and wedge.

The Velcro really pissed me off bc it kept sticking to the part you fold up. I don't know how to get around that, but be prepared for a little frustration.

I think the most important thing was to line up the headrest and seat belt holes before you roll the rest of the cover down. On the back seats I flipped the cover halfway inside out, like on the fronts, put it on and lined up the headrest and seat belts holes and put them in right away. Then I rolled the rest of the cover down over the seat after. Worked great!

I'm waiting on mine to show up, should be soon, the wait though is killing me and cutting it close to when I leave for work. :(

Greatly appreciate reading through all these tips/trick on the seat covers though, hopefully my install will go super well.

I'm about to order the fabled Clazzio leather set covers for my 2016 Silver Tacoma A-cab, in black/dark gray. Can anyone tell me if the whole seat cover leather? or just the perforated insert leather only. Head rest made of leather or vinyl..
They do look great, and looking forward to experiencing that nice new chemical smell soon..:hattip:.
I just found the Q & A and it seems only the seat and back part is leather the rest PVC, Hence the smell. The 1/2 of added memory foam may be enough to cause my
head to hit the headliner which is already close enough. I'm going to hold off till I know more.
In the mean time I will look into the Carhartts. This sucks:rant:..

I am close to the headliner as well, but ordered them anyways. I wanted leather seats, disliked the brown of the limited (not to mention the chrome, ugh) so I went with the sport, figured I'd either add in leather down the road or put on other seat covers.

After talking to a few others that had about the same head room and talking with the manufacture, the seat covers will break in and settle. It's going to be tight to the headliner I think, or maybe not, I'l report back once I get them installed. I am gambling though that I will be super happy with the seat covers. I'm already anal about the truck being dirty, can't imagine what I would do if i stained the seats, probably have a heart attack, stroke or soemthing. Sadly, I already went and bought a battery operated dirt devil to keep in the truck cab to vacuum up dirt :(. My buddy who lives above me is laughing his ass off. He gets into the truck and gets out and I wipe the interior down. Mind you he doesn't give a shit about anything he owns and it shows when you look at his car or his mountain bike which I just repaired/tuned for him and he leaves it sitting outside in the salt air, grrr. Sorry bit of a rant there.

Yeah my buddy has a 1999 Tacoma and the dang thing looks showroom new. Anytime he gets a tiny ding he takes it to the body shop to get it fixed. I tell him, dude its a freaking truck, totally anal about his stuff. He couldn't believe I drilled a hole in the roof for the ham radio antenna.
Anyhow, I will probably get the Clazzios, the Carhartts are crap, nearly 200.00 for a set and they don't even fit well. They have their sides cut out for the air bags WTF is that. That's like having pants with the back cut out in case you Sh:censored:T yourself, who wants that!!
Gotta have leather seats so I will definitely spring for em. Just can't stand to wait that long ...
