    Aftermarket skids are definitely on the agenda, as are sliders. The sad thing is I'm planning of offroading at least once a month, but sliders almost sound better for the sole purpose of preventing idiots in parking lots from dinging the side of my truck lol.

    I actually had a friend of mine complain to me the other day about how someone got mad and yelled at him for hitting their car with his door. I've been questioning my friendship with said friend ever since.

    Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
    One thing that always pays on the first accident: armor. Period.

    Actually...I guess technically it IS about armor since we're talking about sliders in the first place, so we aren't too far off :cheers:

    These are the instructions from Allpro on how to install their sliders. They recommend grinding a notch in the pinch weld to prevent "noise and vibration". I see now that the more important purpose is to prevent contact and bending of the pinch weld.

    I ordered the Allpro HD sliders, when they're in I'll see how much distance I have from the pinch weld and go from there. Not looking forward to grinding and repainting.

    With those sliders, there's some room for adjustment, you can move them slightly lower than they already sit. Simply loosen the bolts or take them out then reposition the sliders slightly lower than the already were. My pelfreybilt sliders have about a 1/4" gap between the sliders and that pinch weld. I just recently adjusted them. Took me all of 30 minutes

    The only way to adjust them down would be to leave a space (or shim) between the frame and bottom brackets. If you leave a gap and hit the sliders, that gap is likely to close.

    I recently purchased a set off All Pro HD Apex sliders off of a member on here. They're line-x'd too, so they're even a little bit thicker. With that being said, I have a plenty big enough gap and no notching was required. The install on the other hand............now that was a bitch and a half.

    From what I understood, the Apex are a step up from the HD. I could be wrong. Let me double check.

    EDIT: Just checked and it goes standard duty, then heavy duty, then Extreme duty Apex series.

    Yes the apex are the step up. You wrote that you have the "Allpro HD Apex".
    Do yours have fill plates and apex logo in the back of the fill plates?

    Sorry for the delayed response. We just got this.
    Loosen your sliders a bit and adjust them down. Once they are where you want them tighten up all the side bolts. Last bolts to tighten are the bottom ones. If there is a small gap on the bottom flange don't sweat it, just tighten til it's good and snug. The bottom bolts are just to prevent upward deflection.
    Keep me posted on how it turns out.
