I can get the full setup for roughly the same price as the OME setup (in Canada) and that's really what kind of piqued my interest... The fact that they're a competing price point and the reviews I've found say they ride way nicer than nitro shocks...

That being said... I will probably run my spacer lift until the Canadian dollar equalizes a bit with the US dollar, so I have plenty of time for research... The relative lack of available information on these is really why I'm asking TW

Just because something is popular on Tacomaworld and in the US doesn't mean it's actually non-standard or unpopular. It's a big world and more real offroading and overlanding happens in Australia, where Ironman is located, than here in the US. Same is true for places like South Africa and many other places.

Besides, using popular as a yardstick is pure lazy. Justin Bieber was popular. Survivor was popular. Roswell, NM is a popular tourist destination. All are total shit like many other very popular things that people do and buy.

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
I think you missed the point @steelhd.

Also if you're gonna compare Australian offroading to much of the stuff we see in the states....

That wasn't a review, it was a sales pitch. And I love how they addressed and "debunked" the myths by say "never happens to our shocks so must not be true."

They admit to being a twin tube shock design but better but fail to discuss how and why its inherently inferior to a monotube design. They claim higher gas pressure is bad because it raises the oil boiling point which is stupid. And they claim the oil won't "mix with the gas" because it uses foam instead of gas, which is ignorant.

-Being a twin tube design, they will have a smaller piston than mono tube which limits dampening performance and tunability.
-Being a twin tube design, they will have less oil than a mono tube which will limit their heat capacity.
-Being a twin tube design, they will have a lower gas pressure than mono tube which can cause increased oil cavitation, a process that does not need "to be in contact with the internal gas" as they seem to imply.

A review of mono vs twin tube:

What info do you need? Need to know how hard they've been ran? I can tell you that mine haven't had an issue yet, and I abused them the first year I had them on my truck. Worth the price. Great customer service.

Haven't had an issue. You ever been on Washington state highways? Possibly the worst roads in the country. Also, my parents live down a mile long graded driveway. I like washboard roads, and my wife doesn't mind them now.

I do a lot of my hunting off old fire roads and poorly maintained oil service roads so that's good news to me! Thanks for the input!

I have foam cell shocks on the rear of my truck.. they're beefy AF.. and I've beat them hard since July last year, never skipped a beat. They've taken the 90kph Forrest road blasting, tough trails and daily driving I've thrown at them, the only thing I can complain about is my leafs suck

For dirt and gravel roads, stock suspension would be fine, if you ask me. I think OP will be just fine with these for what he plans do use them for, although Bilstein 5100's will def perform better speeding down a bumpy road and be cheaper.

That's not the only use I have for an upgraded suspension... I do wheel the truck a good deal... That's just my main concern in terms of ride comfort is whether the shocks will ride well enough that I don't have to fight the truck on washboard... Something the stock suspension is definitely not capable of.

Also the recommendation for 5100s is moot because I've ridden a taco lifted with 5100s and although the ride was better than my dealer installed spacer lift, it TRULY wasn't better than stock without the spacers.

5100s and stock Bilstein shocks are identical internally.

    So..
