After several years of waiting for the model refresh I finally bought another Tacoma yesterday. Then I became obsessed with changing the few cosmetic things that I don't really care for. Which is what brought me to TW. I've seen some great mods on here which has left me a bit envious. My wife's probably going to divorce me over it but I can't wait to get started.

Today I had the windows tinted. Early next week my black TRD wheels will be in along with the black Predator bars. My goal is to get all the chrome off of it as quick as possible.

But you're still a winner because Tacoma. Or if it's your first Toyota. :)

I grew up a Toyota person so I've owned several. I've also been driving Toyota's for company vehicles for the past 8 years. Working for the same family as the distributor is nice.

Haha, nice. I already have my eye on taking the splash panel off and adding a skid plate. Seems like an easy first mod. My list gets longer every time I scroll through the forum.

I hear you on the growing list. Sounds like you're off to a good start. The black TRD wheels will look good when you get them on. With you on the chrome thing too, my chrome badges are getting black Plasti Dip next.

That's going to look good. I keep seeing it talked about on here. I'm going to have to look into how to do it and figure out how to remove them without damaging anything.

You won't have to remove the emblems from your truck if you don't want. Any overspray can be peeled off. I'm going to just mask it off good and leave mine on. Check out the Plasti Dip Mega Thread, lots of info.

I definitely will. It looks like it's a pretty cheap mod. I saw a spray can at Home Depot for less than $6.

Yep, nice to find some mods that don't break the bank, and there's some good ones here on TW. I'll be in the Cheap/Free Mods thread for a while until funds recover from the lift I just ordered. I'm still hoping for a Pelfreybilt front bumper soon though. Dang this TW!! Too many cool trucks and ideas to be content. Sounds like you have the mod bug too- haha. You should post a pic when you get those black wheels on, it'll look really good although your truck looks really nice already.
