    I will say that i went casually off roading in a XJ that I had, on a mild trail. Climbing up a slope my front tire pried out a rock about the size of basket ball- That front tire then fell into the newly created hole and the rocker came down on the rock. It was under light throttle, it was quick- and my first only dent in that rig. Just an example that you never know what you will get into and when my budget allows I will be getting sliders on the Tacoma- Right now I am safe because I have already punctured one of the OEM tire sidewall and have a slight leak in another- so I am not going anywhere until I get a spare.

    There's definetly some room for adjustment without shims. I just adjusted mine a few days ago

    Okay, so I made what adjustment I could today. Only the driver side was hitting, so that's all I adjusted - it was raining and sleeting like hell while I had the truck under inadequate cover during the operation. I went out for another run and didn't hear it hit, but It's still closer than I like. I noticed the front of the mounting plate is flush with the bottom of the frame rail, but the mounting holes make it so the plate angles up toward the back. I pushed them down as far as they would go. Here are the pics from today.

    Then I leveraged the last square post of the slider down using a pry bar against the rear cab mount. I didn't get much movement.

    You can see that the slider is maxed out - the bottom of the mounting hole is visible below the washer. Notice that the bottom of the mounting plate isn't flush with the bottom of the frame rail. I'm not sure if it's intentionally designed this way, maybe Tyler can chime in.

    I'm happy that they are no longer hitting the body on road. I imagine they can easily deflect enough to inflict damage. I guess there's a chance my body mount bushings are worn and squished, but the truck is only 4 years old... It's good enough for now as the truck sits. When the weather improves, I'll put the hi lift on them to see how much deflection we get with slow pressure. I might bite the bullet and order a body mount bushing kit to see if that helps. I really like these sliders. They are well made, appear to be plenty beefy, and look great on the truck. IMO the potential for body damage is still too great for me to feel comfortable though.

    I think you are good like you are. I have mine right about the same spot. At the end of the day if you take a hard impact and it comes up enough to touch the pinch weld its not going to hurt anything. My old set of weld-ons on my last truck saw a ton of abuse and they hit hard enough to tap the pinch weld here and there and it just sorta self clears, nothing to be concerned about.

    I appreciate you getting back to the thread on this. I'm going to put the hi lift on them as soon as I get the chance to see how much deflection there really is. If a hit deflects them enough to tap the pinch, I won't be concerned. If they touch when I lift the truck, I'll order a bushing kit. For 4 years (since the truck was new) I have carried a full compliment of tools in the rear of the access cab where the seats used to be. Considering that weight and where I drive regularly, I wouldn't be surprised if the bushings are getting a little tired.

    My take away is that I have had a great experience with the Pelfreys in terms of customer service and quality of product. Tyler and Satin are still at the top of my list for my remaining armor. I need my t case skid still - the other 2 are from them - and I will eventually do both bumpers. We're incredibly fortunate to have so many great vendors here on TW!!
