    Yeah , I tried that , no chance . I figure they are 700-800 lbs each

    The 2 sawhorses in that pic were bowing under the weight so I ended up putting 2 more sawhorses in there

    tossing an idea around,

    plan to replace my old thermostat, haven't decided on if i want to go fancy (nest) or a little less, but either way i dont have a common wire to pass power to the new thermostat. thinking of future proofing, currently i don't have AC but would like to add it one day, don't want to have to run another wire then.

    currently using 2 wires
    know i need additional;
    need 1 for common
    1 for ac (?)

    so maybe 18/5 ?

    If you're future proofing instead of running more wire, have you looked at something that is wireless (Bluetooth)? I don't know if anything like that exists.

    Replaced a garage door torsion spring today. First time doing it. Took 2.5 hours, not counting the time at the store buying springs. Thank you, Menards, for carrying them. Thank you, YouTube, for being a thing. I know everything about my garage door now, because I made every possible mistake during the process.

    At one point, as I was trying to deal with the cable that had jumped its pulley, I was like "I should move my head out from between the door and the wall, in case it decides it wants to spontaneously close and kill me".

    Doesn't a heat pump replace the furnace I have, so wouldn't need a wire for it. And what's Geo thermal

    Have some wiring for fire places, it's similar shielding, but 22/3. Think I could use it? Or is 18 really needed. Not like it's passing a lot of voltage

    Did mine last year with my dad's help. Went pretty smoothly following the YouTube video I found. Wouldn't hesitate to do it again.
