I know this is probably a very strange question, but can I safely fumigate (bug bomb) my truck bed? Will the chemicals react negatively with the bed material, etc.? It's a stock 2013 prerunner sport.

If you're wondering why, I acquired some lumber for woodworking bit it's been stored outside. I just don't want to bring any hidden critters into my shop.

    Thanks!

    It's fiberglass, not plastic.

Should be fine.. but seems like a good rinse would be just as effective and with less what ifs.

I put a load of fire wood in the bed that ended up being loaded with carpenter ants. Raid ant spray didn't affect the bed. The spray left a white residue that later washed out.

That's the idea. Just blue tape a plastic dropcloth and bang.

I'd take it out and put the wood in a tarp and seal it then bomb the tent you made, seems like a better route to go to me

Was the wood air dried or do you intend or need to dry it further ?

Yeah, fumigate it after you take it out of the bed.

There's a joke in there somewhere.

Be careful of what product you use to fumigate with, make sure to check to see if there is any DEET in the product and if so do not use it! DEET will eat through your paint, that's why when applying bug spray that contains DEET to never use it around vehicles!
